I'm not holding my breath. They've been talking about for approx 2 years now, and we're still waiting. Hence why I don't believe they will ever do anything about it, and OH should just find another job.

((HUGS)) for the stinky news. I can guess what it's about and it's bl00dy horrid being away when that happens. :(

Treats from home always help!! And yay for the homemade pizza and choccie puds! :D

The only thing I made this weekend is leek and potato soup! lol. It is very tasty though, and as last night was the first time I tried Leeks, I'm feeling very pleased with myself. Yes, I was the fussy eater as a child who has been (and continues to be) converted! :D

Why is it that employers seem to be ok with keeping us in limbo? Although nothing like the prolonged uncertainty you're facing, we've just had a six week wait to find out how long we are here for. They don't seem to have any awareness of the fact it puts our entire lives on hold!

Anyway.........Thanks for the hugs. Just had an email from my dad which had some very very good news and turned me into a mushy whatsit at my desk. Mum has just been given the all clear and doesn't have breast cancer after all. Cue emotional phone call to dad then to mum - only mum was on phone to equally mushy brother so I spent a while laughing with her staff. It's only just hit me how worried I was. I feel about 4 stone lighter now.

Mmmm....leek and potato soup. If you enjoyed the leekiness the next thing to try is leeks roasted in cheese roux - one of my ultimate comfort foods. I'm going for smoked fish pie with peas tonight - another comfort food and not too awful as I go light on the potato. That's my excuse anyway.....:p

OH's work are a nightmare! He (and now I) are convinced that they want him to take the plunge to either buy somewhere here, or fall pregnant, before they make a local contract offer. The reason being, is that they know he would then have to accept less money than he is currently on, just to ensure (so called) job security with them. Whereas, at the moment, if they offered less he'd laugh at them and hand in his resignation and move to another company. I don't think they care, one iota, how much it effects us.

Last night he came home to inform me that someone from the UK office was asking him if he'd be interested in going back to work there, as they have some job opps coming up. He refused as we're pretty settled here now, and they only have offices in Newcastle which isn't somewhere that either of us want to live. His family is in Somerset, and mine in Kent, so we'd be swapping Haarlem for Newcastle for no real reason or benefit. Seeing as his manager, and the HR manager, then went on to have a conference call with this UK contact moments later, he is getting the impression again that they want to push him back to the UK.

It's all such a palava, and I wish he would just start looking for work with another company here. I understand why he hasn't, because he has invested so much time with them, but they've always treated him so poorly, they continue to do so and are full of empty promises. At this point, I'm not really sure what he's holding onto anymore.

Great news about your Mum getting the all-clear! The relief must be immense! Very pleased for you :D

Oh no, not cheese, never cheese. Nasty, evil stuff that makes me sick. ICK! Sorry, but me and cheese do not mix! :rotfl:

3.5lb off this week :j Although when I tracked my weight online, it told me I'm losing weight too fast and I should increase my food intake. Hmmm. Maybe they have a point - I've lost 10.5lb in under a month. That's a little over 5% of my starting body weight :o

Are you meeting the necessary minimum calorie intake, and not overdoing the exercise? If so, I think you're fine.

Most people tend to lose a lot of weight in the first weight, and then level out to 1-3lbs per week. Sometimes more, and sometimes less.

One of my closest friends was 5 stone overweight at one point, and at first week at WW, she lost 8lbs! She'd certainly lost more than 10.5lbs by the end of the month.

I was dead jealous, as I only lost 4lbs the first week and then seemed to average 1-2lbs per week after that. But....I was only 2 stone overweight. So I think your starting weight has a huge impact on how quickly your body will burn it off.

Oh yeah and WAHOOOOOOOO! Well done on another 3.5lbs down! Brilliant news! :D And 10.5lbs so far!! That is awesome! It's almost a stone!!! Bl00dy fantastic!

I need to shift some lbs. After months of barely doing any exercise, and enjoying too many treats, my work trousers are now (almost) too tight! I'm not buying anymore so I'll have to drop these lbs! :rotfl::rotfl:

Sorry....no more talk of food unless it's celery and raw carrot :lipsrseal.

Massive congrats on the 3.5lbs loss :T- you make me feel very :o at my lack of effort. I want to shed about 30 lbs - I may have to rely on you lot for some encouragement!

Hope the exercise aches are easing off Euro - I did 10km on the cross trainer last night and I can really feel it im my - erm - seat area :rotfl:.

Will do the same again tonight then have to sit down and get some study done. I decided, having completed my first module on the 30th September, to start two more on the 1st October. So I am now working full time and studying full time. There's 36 hours in a day.....right??

No idea about calories TBH... I've been slightly under my daily points allowance, but I did use some of my weekly points (apologies if this is going over anyone's head). I haven't been hungry, and I did a 20 minute Zumba session on the wii on Thursday, and an hour on Monday. So not too much exercise, nor not enough food.

From my start weight I need to lose 2 stone to get my BMI back into the 'normal' category. But I'm aiming for a bit over 3 stone overall.

Went christmas shopping with mum last night and she kept pointing out the maternity & nursery stuff :o
