  • Hi lilian

Sorry to hear about your stitch problems. Hope you get that fixed soon. One of my NCT friends had the same thing, her Dr told her that it isn't uncommon for epi stitches to take up to a year to heal

I completely understand the reluctance to go through the whole newborn stage again! We had a bit of a night with DS last night as poor little fella has a nasty cough, and it kind of brought back memories of sleepless nights and general snapping and grumpiness between me and OH!

We haven't DTD much since I gave birth either, more through apathy on both our parts than anything else. We have talked about it, and both agree we need to make more effort, but honestly I'm so knackered most of the time, the last thing I feel like when I fall into bed at night is bedroom gymnastics!

Thanks MV. Sorry, haven't been keeping up with this thread - when are you thinking about trying again? xx

  • Don't worry, neither have I!

Not too sure, 'sometime next year' has been agreed upon, but nothing more detailed than that!

I'm quite looking forward to being able to drink at Christmas this year though as I have been preggo for the last 2!

  • In terms of nerves, I'm not feeling any (yet) about how close 2012 is. I'm having my implant out in March and letting nature take its course until I decide to go OCD with BBT, ovulation predicting thingamajigs etc. I know it will take a while for my cycles to get back on track. I'm also trying to be more conscious of my moods (DH can take a right battering at times).

Saw my little niece on Saturday and as soon as SIL saw me with her she said "so are you trying yet?". Hehehe.

Happy Monday morning everyone - hope those of you in the UK have enjoyed the fabulous weather!

COMP - well done on the weight loss. I'm getting mine back on track, although the scrummy homemade pizzas and melting middle choccie puds we had on Friday were definitely not diet friendly! Want to try to shift a fair bit before our holiday in November though.

Are any other of the 2012'ers starting to get a bit nervous at how close it is to 2012?!

I wish! (as weird as that sounds)

We're waiting on this local contract being sorted for OH, so then we can buy and then start trying. Despite agreeing with OH that he would not update me on the job situation, unless there was an actual update to give me, every week he's telling me that he thinks this or that will happen. And that they've spoken about it again and something is to be sorted imminently blah blah blah.

It's a load of b0ll0cks and I don't believe it will ever happen. I think they are just stringing him along and I think he knows that, but doesn't want to admit it, IYSWIM.

The house next door went up for sale too, and OH wanted to have a look at it. So I found it online, and it's lovely! Spacious, with a garden, gorgeous kitchen and a nursery (already decorated) etc. It's within our price range, so OH suggested we view on Sat (it was an open house day), but I refused. I'm NOT going to get my hopes up like that again. I can't afford to buy the place on my salary alone, so unless he's willing to take the risk with his secondment contract, or his local contract is sorted here, there is absolutely NO point in looking. He seemed a bit put out by that, but that is the reality of the situation.

Sorry, I'm still feeling down about it all really. It's not helping having these (non) 'updates' from him each week.

Sorry to hear that Euronorris - hope he gets a proper answer soon. I know how you feel about not wanting to see the house - we made the mistake of seeing a fab one when we were back only to find out we're here for another 2 years. Even looking online feels pointless at the mo.

I too am feeling a bit rubbish and am missing the UK after having some pretty stinky news last week - the sort that makes being away really hard.

However I can recommend pizza and choccie puds as a pick me up. Because they were home made I kid myself that they were healthier....

I discovered, on Friday, that one or two glasses of wine turn me from PMT monster to an 'I love everyone!' character. Much to OH's joy.

It was a very effective pain reliever for the cramps too. Just a shame it isn't a viable option for the entirety of the period! lol

I'm not holding my breath. They've been talking about for approx 2 years now, and we're still waiting. Hence why I don't believe they will ever do anything about it, and OH should just find another job.

((HUGS)) for the stinky news. I can guess what it's about and it's bl00dy horrid being away when that happens. :(

Treats from home always help!! And yay for the homemade pizza and choccie puds! :D

The only thing I made this weekend is leek and potato soup! lol. It is very tasty though, and as last night was the first time I tried Leeks, I'm feeling very pleased with myself. Yes, I was the fussy eater as a child who has been (and continues to be) converted! :D

    Hi again!
Have printed off the work maternity guide, got the last of the home renovations planned for November and started popping the folic acid. I am currently on my week of no pills, then planning one more packet before i come off the pill. Might make it two packets if the DIY is too stressful!
Have been on pill for nearly ten years (scary) and before that had a more or less 35 day cycle. Will have to see what happens next and will probably get into the counting and planning thing in the new year once my body has settled into its routine (I hope!)
Look forward to keeping you company for a while :)
