COMP - glad you had a nice evening with your friend and sorry to hear she can be - ahem - challenging at times. I'm not sure I'd be able to cope with that TBH! Hope the cold gets better.

Euronorris - congrats of the arrival of your new nephew. Hope you had lots and lots of lovely auntie cuddles.

Sammy - congrats on your marriage. Hope the house buying goes smoothly for you. We went to see a house last week which was really nice and very us - but now we know we're here for a bit longer we will probably wait. I do like looking though!

findingmyownway - hope that OH gets the treatment he needs speedily and successfully and you get everything you want xx

I have read everyone else's news - welcome to the newbies, congrats to the graduates (and those who have graduated the TTC thread as well!) and excited squeals for those very nearly graduating!

I was 30 last year! I got caught in second month of trying.

I thought I'd just add to this. I'm 31 on Tuesday and we got our BFP at the end of July :) we caught 2 months after trying but unfortunately lost our bean but we have been so lucky and caught again 2 months later with this one :)

My mum was 20 when she had her first (me :)) and was 30 when her surprise third baby was concieved :)

30 isn't old at all and some women get pregnant naturally, well into their 40s so try not to worry about age. Stress is probably more of a factor when TTC and there's enough of that when you get going so don't add to it my needlessly worrying your too old because you're not. :)

    xx

    I'm 30 in June 2012 :o

And I'll be 30 in November 2012, as my Mum reminded me this weekend. Cheers Mum!

Although, to be fair, for her it's 'my youngest child will be 30 next year!!!!' lol

  • 30 is so not old..makes me feel ANCIENT! :rotfl:

I'm 38 and had my first baby in january aged 37.

I did have a miscarriage in Jan 2010, but was preggo again by April, and my baby boy is a big, smiley healthy boy (self indulgent pic below!) :D

I intend to start trying for no2 mid next year, which will take me to the big 4 0 if wer get lucky!

A midwife told me it is little to do with your chronological age, and she also said that the majority of healthy pregnancies she see's these days are women over 40.

My sister is 32, and her story is so similar to Emsbets. She is now 32+ weeks and everything is going well. She was very lucky to only suffer with a little nausea at the start too.

And my SIL is also 32/33, and just gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Turns out it was first month of trying for them, and he caught straight away and pregnancy was smooth. So I really think it's more down to individuals than age (though it can play it's part of course).

Kalama, great to see you back! :D And you're right, smears are very important. My last one was fine, and I will be called for one on 30th Birthday here in NL too (which is about when my next one was due anyway). My other sister's recent ones showed some abnormal cells, so she's having to have a colposcopy. Fingers crossed all will be OK. And one my closest friends had pre-cancerous cells last year which have now been treated and all is OK again. I hope you (and those close to you) are OK Kalama. (HUGS)

Get it checked ladies (if you haven't already). Embarrassment is far better than the alternative.

He/she will be here before you know it! :D :j:j:j

They grow up sooo quickly! My eldest neice is now 12, but is only 2 inches shorter than me already! And I'm 5 foot 7, so not exactly short! She's got such long legs! And her feet are already same size as mine - 7!!

I remember when she was born! She was so tiny! And I was only 16 myself! Oh no.....I sound like my Mother! :rotfl::rotfl:

  • They do grow so fast! In 8 months the changes are phenominal!

Take LOADS of photos is my advice!

Can I also just say that the various pregnancy threads/miscarriage thread on this site have been invaluable support for me.

I think I played out both my pregnancies on various boards, and the help/support I received was amazing.
