Awesome, sorry, just me being dumb then! :o

Thats not so far away :D

My ever optomistic time scale (and previously kept in my head!) is:

OH transplant sometime between November and February (fingers crossed)
    Wedding - Autumn 2012
TTC - maybe xmas 2012 onwards, or maybe straight after wedding, I'll be 30 in April 2013 :o

    I'm 30 in June 2012 :o

Do you think it really makes a difference? Its hard to know whether the scaremongering in the press etc is true. From friends experience it seems that the younger mums have an easier time of pregnancy / labour etc, but that may just be coincidence. The pregnant girls in my office are 35 and 40!

In theory we could TTC now, but having OH on dialysis isn't ideal. And we would prefer to be married first. But maybe my increasing age has to be taken into account too? AAagggh why is everything so complicated?

Oh dear! I hope it gets sorted soon.

Well done on starting the exercise and WW! :D

You may still have a chance with the job, as they have a lot of candidates to consider and might not have finished the interviews yet. I've had companies take a month before!

    Morning all,

I've had along old break from posting here - had some stuff going on which led me to a lot of soul searching on whether I wanted kids or not.

OH has been fab - really supportive and has made me really think about all the options and consequences and all the possibilities we have in front of us. I had worked myself up into a tizz - thinking I could have either a family or the career change I want but not both. He very gently pointed out how daft I was being. I was also very worried that I was pushing him into something he didn't want - but he again pointed out that daft little me was neglecting the fact that he doesn't EVER get pushed into doing anything he doesn't want to do!

Not going to go into the stuff in too much detail - but let me just say this:

Ladies - do not miss/avoid/put off your smear tests! We have them for a reason.

Flew back for a check up with my consultant last week who is very happy and has said that I am fine to start TTC whenever I want. It was this which really made me realise I do want kids - the feeling of relief and joy when he said that was so uplifting.

Have seen an amusing (and very touching) change in OH as well. He is now dropping little things into conversation he wasn't before, such as "wouldn't that garden be great for you and couple of sprogs" when we are looking at houses. I got up the other morning to find him researching child care options in the area we will move back to. He had a long chat with my mum when we were back (about his young nieces, moving back etc) and she told me after that she got the distinct impression that he is very ready to take the next step and actually feels a bit jealous of the nieces.

So.....this is a very rambling way of saying that I am now back on the WTTC bus. Not entirely sure when - we've found out this week that we are here for another two years (till Sep 2013). My studies are going really well - I am about to finish one module and start two more meaning I will be halfway through my degree by June 2012. After that the pace of study slows down with just one course at a time and breaks in between - so I think waiting till Spring 2012 is still a good idea.

I do however feel guilty at the idea of taking maternity leave whilst out here.....but then I am entitled and if I was in the UK I wouldn't think twice!
