  • Ahhh, my first ever post on this site, scary!!!

Just thought I'd say hello, we're going to start trying after our wedding next April, I'm very excited, scared and nervous. I can't wait to be a mummy but it's scary thinking about if/when it will actually happen!!

In terms of prep, it's a bit of a werd one for me. My weight is fine, I excercise regulalry, don't smoke and do my best to eat healthily. However, I've not been to the dentist in about 18 years!!! Which I know is very naughty and it sounds silly but I'm petrified as I have a needle phobia. Anyway I've taken the plunge and gone and registered with my OH's dentist and made my first appointment. My reasons, 1. I know I could do with some fillings etc. (never had any,) 2. we will be taking our son/daughter to the dentist, how can expect them to go if I don't go. 3. if I were to encounter tooth ache etc. when pregnent not sure if they can treat you/what pain killers you can have, so thought I should sort it now. So I'm facing my fear and going!!!

Right, I also have a question, our honey moon isn't until about 6 weeks after the wedding, in the unlikely event that I get pregnent straight away, is it ok to fly in the early stages?? I don't really want to put it off any later as I'm getting on a bit :ol!!!
  • Welcome sunnyjolls!

I'll add you to the front page. As far as I'm aware it's perfectly fine to fly in early pregnancy, it's more in the later stages that you need a doctor's letter etc. I think your only problem could end up being morning sickness! Where are you going (I'm being nosey!)

    Morning all :)
tmi alert  Last night when I took my bra off my boobs felt incredibly heavy, and my nips were insanely sensitive and very sore. Still sore this morning, I'm hoping this is a sign of AF approaching. Anyone else get this? I'm now on CD42, so really hoping AF will turn up soon :o

YEP! Mine are like this from ovulation until AF (and for the first few days of AF too).

They are currently very, very sore as AF is due tomorrow.

  • Aww thanks for the welcomes :)

clearing_out_my_pockets we're going to Santorini, so not a ridiculously long flight or anything like that. I thought it was ok in the early stages, it's doubtful I'll be pregnant by then anyway but just thought I'd check.

I came off the pill in May which I'm glad I did as although I'm seem to have fallen into a regular cycle pretty quickly, there doesn't seem to be much of it, IYSWIM, maybe this is just how it will be???

One of the things I find weird, when I think about becoming a mum, is how I will actually be. Will I be quite laid back and happy for other people to babysit etc., or will I find leaving them difficult. Will I be strict or lenient? I don't think you'll ever really know until we're in that situation. Any thoughts?

I'm hoping that I'll be happy for people to babysit. My parents have offered to provide childcare so that I can go back to work, so any baby we do have will need to be familiar with nan and grandad's faces. My niece doesn't see much of my parents and she doesn't recognise their faces. I also don't see much of her and she cries if I hold her.

In terms of strict or lenient, I'm aiming for a balance of the two. I think DH will be the stricter TBH.

Happy Monday morning everyone - hope those of you in the UK have enjoyed the fabulous weather!

COMP - well done on the weight loss. I'm getting mine back on track, although the scrummy homemade pizzas and melting middle choccie puds we had on Friday were definitely not diet friendly! Want to try to shift a fair bit before our holiday in November though.

Are any other of the 2012'ers starting to get a bit nervous at how close it is to 2012?!

I was intending to start trying in Dec 11 but baba (nearly 9 months) has only just started sleeping through the night and I can't imagine starting the whole process again quite so soon! Have just bought a batch of ovulation sticks from Ebay though...

The main issue I have is that my episiotomy stitch still hasn't healed fully, OH and I have only DTD once since I gave birth and even then we couldn't finish as it was too painful for me. I have a referral to a gyn on it's way for me to be restitched but I don't know when this will be :(

I guess all I can do until then is chart my OV. Am off the pill as of this month so will wait for AV and then make a start.
