  • Hi

I have been a long time lurker on this forum and thought it was time to bite the bullet and post on a thread so picked this one.

I am 34 and my boyfriend is 45 we have been together for 16 years next month and have finally decided that we are ready to start a family.

We are in limbo at the moment as I am due to find out whether I am about to be made redundant or not :(. We are hoping to find out by the end of next week so our plan is as follows:-

If I have got a job then we are going to start straight away (I finished my last pack of pills yesterday so just going to wait for my cycle to sort itself out and then get cracking).

If we don't find out then I am going to have another month on the pill.

If I haven't got a job then it is going to have to go on hold until I can find another job and have been there long enough for maternity benefits.

    It is so annoying!!

Are you guys all ok? You've all been awfully quiet! I can't stalk you if you're not saying owt! :rotfl:

I was in the UK visiting family and having lots of hugs with my gorgeous new nephew! :D:D:D:D

SIL thought that I would be put off after a few days of screaming, crying and dirty nappies. Or at least less broody. She was wrong. She soon realised I actually became more broody during that time. Dirty nappies and crying babies do not phase me, but that's most likely cos I'm not the one up all night with it! :rotfl:

    Afternoon all :)
got my blood test results from the GP this morning, and I'm rubella-immune, so that's one more thing ticked off my list for preparing to TTC :D

I thought I would be immune, as I had a booster jab when I started secondary school, as our year group only got one dose of the MMR when we were little.

Not much else to report, CD27 here, and waiting to see if I'm going to have a normal cycle after stopping the pills.

    Afternoon all!

I went and asked about getting my rubella immunity tested and completely forgot to actually book the blood test with the nurse! D'oh! Must do this once we get back from honeymoon (we go next Thursday! :j) I'm just about to order my last repeat prescription of my pill, how odd that I won't need any more after this pack!

Just found out that a lady at work is 11 weeks pregnant and she showed me the scan, I just about turned into a massive pile of goo, cooing over it's tiny little head, I'm so broody it's embarassing!

Welcome Kittycat, really hope that you keep your job!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

  • Hi All!
How nice to see people again! Euro-I thought you'd gone silent because you were unhappy about yout TTC situation, so I'm really glad to hear that it's because you've been enjoying yourself instead!
I've become a bit of a stalker on the TTC thread :o I SO want to be a part of it, but I'm being really patient until it's "My Turn"! I reckon I've got 1 more cycle to go before I graduate as we're not going to NZ until the 15th Oct, which is our official TTC start time.
However...I'm currently on CD32 so am trying to convince myself that I could be PG already, although my longest cycle in since I came off the pill was 35 days, so it could easily be that-especially as I haven't had any symptoms! but just maaayybeeee...!
Maybe it's a phantom pregnancy!!
    oh-Also
    Welcome Kittycatt :hello:

  • Good thread bumping everyone.

No news here. OH still no kidney transplant so still no progress on a date for TTC.

There are 5 of us in my office (3 girls and 2 blokes). The other 2 girls are both 7 weeks pregnant.

    Bum.

(I am happy for them both really. Sigh)

Full of cold and on the verge of an argument with an old friend. :o

Otherwise fine! Started Zumba last week, weightwatchers last night and now re-starting salsa tonight. Dragging my mum along to all three and my (future) sister-in-law along to zumba and salsa.

Still not heard back from my job interview though. It's been a week now. I assume I've not got it.
