    So does my OH!

He knows that it has taken other people a lot longer, and the average times it takes people to conceive, but he remains convinced that his sperm is super sperm! *rolls eyes* He has absolutely no reason to believe this! No reason to believe he has bad sperm either, but a recognition that he probably sits somewhere in the middle would be nice.

Even when I said that it could be my body that would cause a delay, ie no egg released one month, or it just doesn't fertalize, or implant etc etc. Nope, apparantly, none of that matters as his guys will cope with anything!

I get the impression he says in a half joking, half serious sort of way, but I wish he wouldn't. I feel under such pressure. Like, if it doesn't happen straight away for us, it will somehow be my fault in his mind, rather than just the way nature is.

I could have written this post word for word! :T

Are you trying to convince yourself there COMP?! ;)
does anyone know if it's possible to OV on CD10/11? I'm sure I have EWCM, but that would make my cycle about 25 days I reckon...ah well, the shorter the cycle, the more opportunities to get pregnant I s'pose!!

My sister has a 21 day cycle and has fallen pregnant 4 times, so it's not necessarily a bad thing :)

    Hi all,

Hope everyone is making good progress to get themselves ready to ttc.

Hubby and I got back from honeymoon last week. We had a fabulous time - I didn't want to come back to reality. Needless to say the baby dance was practised a lot ;). However, we had a bit of a chat about having a family and have decide that we should never ttc but just stop trying to not get pregnant. I know this sounds like a contradiction but what we mean is just stop using contraception and if it happens, it happens. This is because before our honeymoon I was obsessing because my period was very light (only bleed for a day) and we both think if we ttc then it will become a major obsession, overtaking my every waking thought, which isn't healthy and would probably stop me getting pregnant anyway because I would be stressing so much.

Have also discussed when. I have said we need to wait till we have cleared our debt. We are in a one bed flat but if we wait to give up contraception once we are out of debt then we could have a deposit for a house by the time baby was 1 year old at the latest. I am also thinking about waiting till we have at least a 10% deposit for a two bed house. But either way it means at least a two year wait :(.

:hello: Welcome Walby and congratulations on your marriage! Where did you go for your honeymoon?
I like the idea of trying-but-not-trying if only I was younger I'd be tempted to try that myself, but by the time we actually do start TTC, I'll be 34 1/2!

Hello Lara! Nice to find you here, although I feel a little caught out! :rotfl:

It's good to hear (in a funny kind of way!) that my OH is not the only one convinced that he has super sperm! He really does think that we'll catch immediately, he's even got this 'funny' idea of what song will be playing so we can tell the baby that s/he was concieved to Will Smith's 'Gettin Jiggy With It'! :p

I mentioned maybe waiting an extra month or two to make sure that we get the insurance pay out (the baby has to be born after August 1st to qualify) so maybe trying after Christmas but he said he doesn't care about money and wants to start straight away. I'm a bit wary for a few reasons TBH, 1 is the insurance money, £800 is a lot to miss out on because we were a little too keen, 2 is the fact that my brother's getting married in December and I want to be able to drink at the wedding (more like need to drink to get over the fact that I'll be wearing a really ugly dress!) and 3, I don't really want an August baby, I think that August babies seem to struggle a bit in school for the first few years because they're more or less a year younger than the older kids and when they get to their teens they're left out a lot because they're under age! It was bad enough for me and I was born in May! I just don't know what to do. Maybe I should tell him that for health reasons we have to wait until the New Year so we'll work to my timeline!:p

:rotfl: I know Birdie, I saw Flower on the early pregnancy thread too! Am MSE stalking, accidentally :o

With CMD telling us about her Christmas present buys, and the bad weather lately, I'm feeling like Christmas is just around the corner!! Am sure whatever you decide it will come around nice and quickly. Exciting!!

Thanks Magicboo! We went to Italy and hopped about a bit - Venice, Rome, Pompeii and Sorrento. It was a trip of a lifetime and I feel such a lucky girl to have been able to go.

Yes, I think I will be a lot less stressed if we are trying-but-not-trying. If we only wait until debts are cleared (as opposed to then also building up a big house deposit) we will be 27 by the time we are trying-but-not-trying so time will be on our side. And as I said before, knowing what I am like it would become an obsession if we were 'properly trying'.

Birdie, £800 is a lot of money and for the sake of a couple of months its worth waiting. And as for your brother's wedding, I completely agree about having a drink! BIL is getting married next May and I mentioned to his wife about having already started keeping an eye out for an outfit, to which she replied "I would wait if I was you, you might not fit in it by that time" (meaning I might be pregnant) and I told her we have to wait until after then because I want to get sozzled to celebrate!

Oh, and on another note - when we were collecting our baggage back in the UK, DH dropped it in to conversation that "everyone" is probably surprised I am not pregnant yet as "everyone" thinks I am "baby obsessed"...... Was a little annoyed at first, until I admitted myself they are right and if we were in a better financial situation I probably would be pregnant by now lol

Walby, your honeymoon sounds fab! :)

'Everyone' thinks/knows I'm baby obsessed too, every time I pick up a wine glass when I see my friends they always look shocked that I'm drinking as it means I'm not pregnant yet! :rotfl:

Some good friends of ours are getting married next August (another reason to wait a little, don't want to be going into labour on the wedding day!) and as they're having a church wedding I'm going to get a fab hat to wear, but I can't start looking in the sales for hats/matching frocks in case I'm a little bit/massively pregnant and any dress I buy may not fit, so frustrating! I daren't buy maternity wear and tempt fate! I've also been invited on her Hen weekend which will be in June, (either Marbella or Cetre Parcs, in discussion right now) and I really want to go but worried that I might be the boring fat preggo who stays sober and goes to bed at 9 o'clock! :o

Birdie, it was fab! Probably shouldn't have done it, given our debt situation but it really was the holiday of a lifetime!

Haha, I know what you mean (except I am not judged on the wine as I don't often drink - live too far away from friends to pay for a cab so I often drive). I met up with my friends back in March. I apologised for being late and told them it was because the doctor had been running late, to which they replied "oh yeah? Are we going to be "aunties" soon then?". They looked most disappointed when I told them it was for a repeat prescription of the Pill :rotfl:

Don't be worried about being the "boring pregnant" one - they will probably drive you mad asking you loads of questions! Everyone loves babies so you will be a massive talking point (in a nice way, of course!).
