Feeling a bit meh today - had a conversation with DH about job hunting last night. I pointed out that if I were to start a new job in January (for example) I'd really annoy my new work colleagues if I were to get pregnant four months later. Which confused DH very much. He was of the impression we were trying from December / January. Read back and you'll see that he wanted to start in July and we compromised on March / April. So this morning I asked him to clarify what timescale he is happy with. I will keep the text in case he forgets or denies all knowledge - he said "implant out in March with Venice in mind". Woot.Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0

Hi All!
I'm back from my hols! Welcome to all our newbies!
Still need to catch up, but also with work! lol. COMP - Men are a bit confusing aren't they. TBH, I think they change their minds more often than us, but they'll never admit it of course!
Glad you got it in a text though. My OH is guilty of denying all knowledge of agreeing things with me, when he's changed his mind. He'll be adamant that he didn't agree to something, until I forward him the email he sent, or show him the text! lol
HUGS to all who need them!

aw COMP, I'm sorry your DH is being so vague, that must be really frustrating, especially if he can't remember what you've agreed
I think I'd have gone with "well if you want to try from december darling, I'd better get the implant out now" to let things settle down
mine is being v specific - last night he was complaining about being too hot, so I told him to take his jeans off or his swimmers would be boiling, and he replied "but the Tommy's book said it takes 90 days to make a batch of swimmers, so I don't have to worry about overheating them until the end of september" :rotfl: weird man logic, it cracks me up. I take it from that conversation thoguh, that he thinks we're trying from Jan, but I'd left it vaguely as "some point in the new year" (jan-March in my head, depending how i'm doing at work (waiting for promotion to next WL, unlikely to happen if I announce that I'm pg:(), whether debts are going to be gone in 9 months etc!)Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Oh don't get me started on promotions!
Seriously, now that I have March / April in my head, I don't want to move it back to December / January. We fly to Venice on 21st April for a week as a joint 30th birthday / 1st wedding anniversary thing, so I don't want to already be pregnant. Also my brother gets married in May, so I want to be able to wear a pretty dress without taking the attention away from the bride with a big bump.Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
Oooh I wouldn't want to miss out on all that Italian wine either Comp
My sister was very pregnant with her second baby on her 30th and she was grumpy and fed up on the phone about not being able to party. So she went for her second vice instead -cheese - and went to a fondue restaurant!:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
My 30th is actually in June but we're 'celebrating' it in April. DH's 30th is in March, our 1st wedding anniversary will be in May and April just felt like a good time to go away. As luck would have it, we fly out 5 years to the day since DH & I started seeing each other.
I know the chances are extremely low of getting pregnant straight away. I know that. I just don't want to tempt fate and all that!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -

does anyone know if it's possible to OV on CD10/11? I'm sure I have EWCM, but that would make my cycle about 25 days I reckon...ah well, the shorter the cycle, the more opportunities to get pregnant I s'pose!!

It is possible. The time between AF and ov can vary. It's the LP (Luteal Phase between ov and the following AF) that tends to stay the same length.

Are you trying to convince yourself there COMP?!
It's not me I need to convince - it's DH! No matter how many times I tell him that it's not magic, he remains convinced that it will happen within a month :rotfl:Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -

So does my OH!
He knows that it has taken other people a lot longer, and the average times it takes people to conceive, but he remains convinced that his sperm is super sperm! *rolls eyes* He has absolutely no reason to believe this! No reason to believe he has bad sperm either, but a recognition that he probably sits somewhere in the middle would be nice.
Even when I said that it could be my body that would cause a delay, ie no egg released one month, or it just doesn't fertalize, or implant etc etc. Nope, apparantly, none of that matters as his guys will cope with anything!
I get the impression he says in a half joking, half serious sort of way, but I wish he wouldn't. I feel under such pressure. Like, if it doesn't happen straight away for us, it will somehow be my fault in his mind, rather than just the way nature is.February wins: Theatre tickets0
