I have asked him this and have pointed out that if he has nothing to hide then why can't I meet them? He has agreed that I can if I want to but he sees both of them very rarely (say once or twice a year) and neither of them live locally.

Since we've been together so long it might look a bit odd if I suddenly started turning up with him and I'm sure the situation would be uncomfortable. Plus I'm pretty sure he's been moaning to both of them about me, one in particular, via email and text etc so I'm a bit embarrassed because I think they'll have an opinion of me already - and not a very good one.

I feel quite upset and anxious about it and can't really discuss it with him because he just denies everything and says I'm being ridiculous. He can be quite selfish and I think that because he doesn't think he's doing anything wrong then he will just carry on regardless of my feelings.

Don't know whether I'm trying to convince myself I should stay or go at the moment and I can't be normal with him.

I wouldn't worry about feeling awkward, as that is his doing not yours. So try not to let that stand in your way.

Also, you can just say something like 'Oh, I've wanted to meet you since the start, but XXXX was always forgetting to let me know/it always coincided with other commitments I had already made.'.

Do you ever have BBQ's or the like? If so, what about offering to invite them and therefore asking for their email so that you can invite them, confirm details, check diet requirements etc so that a) you have a chance to make contact and b) he doesn't have to deal with that fuss.

Ultimately though, if he won't take on board your concerns, you will have to decide if this is something you can accept about him or not.

    Morning all :)
I have a bit of waiting to TTC news - as of next sunday I'll qualify for my works enhanced maternity pay if I fall pregnant, so when my current pill packet ends next Friday, I'm stopping them! :j Spoke to DH about it last night, and he's agreed - I was planning to take one more packet, but I looked up the policy yesterday and calculated it out, so we'll definitely be safe as of next weekend.

Still not TTC until the new year, but I'm looking forward to getting back to my natural cycle, and working out when I ovulate etc so that I'm ready when we start trying :D Also want to lose a few stones, so will need to get my butt into gear with the exercise and diet stuff :o

I'm a little apprehensive though, I've been on the pill since I was about 16, 10 years on Microgynon, 3 horrendous months on a mini-pill, and now 3 years on cerazette. I have absolutely no idea what my cycles will be like, and whether the hormones when I was 16 were my normal cycle, or just teenage stroppiness :rotfl: DH could be in for a nasty shock, he's never lived with me when I wasn't on the pill.......

    Hi Little Moog.

I had been on the pill for 10 years, microgynon, and got caught first month I came off it.

This time round I had been on the depot injection for a year, cerazette for 6 months and got caught in the second month. So be warned lol.

    Good luck.

Thanks lil, it's good to hear stories like that - my GP told me it could take a year for my periods to start again

I was on Microgynon for 13 years, came off, had the usual withdrawal bleed and got my first 'real' period 26 days after taking my last pill.

Had a fairly regular cycle ever since too.

It really does depend on the individual though. Everyone's experience seems to vary quite considerably, it seems.

I have just come off Cerazette a fortnight ago - hubby can't believe his luck...my sex drive has gone through the roof and the constant feeling of paranoia I had has completely gone. So scary considering I was on Antidepressants twice in the last five years and now I think I may have found the cause of the problem!
I had so many issues on being a mum considering the bad times I had but now feel completely chilled out....work was the main source of anxiety and now it is 'if it gets done, it gets done'! Loving it!

No sign of a cycle coming back on though! Financially, we won't be quite ready to properly TTC until xmas so is like being a teenager again using condoms!
  • Not enjoying the rain here - I have naturally curly / wavy hair and spent AGES straightening it his morning. Used an umbrella for the walk to the station so my hair didn't get wet. I have curly hair again. My sister (who works at the same company) tells me it looks 'fine' but I hate my curls!

On the TTC (ish) front I have booked our trip to Venice so officially we 'start' on 21st April next year. Eek! On the MSE side of things, Venice is SO expensive!

Oooh Venice sounds lovely COMP! It's on our list of places to go, think we're going to have to win the lottery to go everywhere we want to though! :)

How scary about the pill affecting you so much Lillibit! It's fantastic that you're feeling so much better now though. I'm really looking forward to coming off my pill, I'm hoping I'll chill out a bit, but what if I don't? What if I'm just a moddy cow with no excuse?! :rotfl:

Hope you've had a good chat with your OH PP and you're feeling better about everything now :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!
