I'm also here but have been taking a break from the thread for my own sanity! For the last six months or so all I've been able to think about is babies and I think it's been putting a strain on my relationship with DH. I don't want to take it out on him, so I've been (unsuccessfully) trying to make myself less broody.

Anyway, a compromise may be in the pipework. DH & I are going to Venice in April next year as our joint 30th birthdays and one year anniversary celebration. I might suggest to him that we start trying after that. I suppose from a practical point of view, I would want to be able to drink, etc. It's also conveniently at the halfway point between my 'preferred' date and his.

I like your compromise COMP, sounds like a plan! Always good to be able to have fun on holiday too!
Does anyone have any ideas about ovulation predictor tests? I've just been looking at them on amazon and am wondering if I should get them? Do you go all out and buy the expensive ones, or go for the cheapy stick ones that have mixed reviews? Or is that going too far and I should just leave it to chance?! Oh, it's so complicated, and we're not even trying yet!!

I've used the cheapy ones from amazon and they work fine for me. I start using them about two or three days before I expect to ov just in case I ov early.

Some of the ladies on TTC use the CBFM which can be more accurate because it measures two hormones (LH-lutinizing hormone and estrogen) instead of just one for the cheapies (LH). Estrogen peaks before LH (which is the hormone released just prior to ov) so you get more of a warning.

Thanks Birdie85, I think I was probably over reacting a bit but I'm a bit of a react first, think about it later type! It's not been mentioned again since so I am just going to come off the pill in a couple of weeks like we agreed and see how it goes from there...

I can imagine myself secretly taking my temperature and getting all obsessed about it while OH is none the wiser and just getting him to contribute when necessary IYKWIM !!!
