  • I'm extremely pleased to hear that PayPal refunded you your £75. However if they had not yet passed on the money to Tiger, it wasn't so very good of them. I'm wondering why they didn't pass on the money to Tiger, they must have had suspicions about them. My claim was for £20 but they turned me down. I ordered on 28 November and the money went to Tiger through my credit card via PayPal on the same day. I didn't start to claim until 8 December when I realised something was wrong. I'm hoping I'll have better luck claiming from my credit card!

I wonder how PayPal decide who is refunded and who isn't..
I have submitted my claim and have to wait until 22nd Dec for a decision. I can see that the amount has already cleared from my credit card by PayPal. Fingers crossed...
  • Paypal is a bit funny about transferring money, a payment seems to sit in a virtual "pot" for a while. The timeline in my case, after authorising the PP payment was...

    29th Nov
    Placed order with Tiger
Payment taken from bank into paypal account
Payment issued to Tiger from paypal account
    30th Nov
Tiger account status shows payment received, goods on way (snigger)
    4th Dec
    Started PP dispute
Tiger account status shows payment withdraw by pp and order withheld.
    14th Dec
PP award the claim to me
Payment refunded back to PP account :-)

On the flip-side, I've had a similar thing happen to me when I had a dispute with a buyer on ebay who had paid with paypal; the buyer claimed they had not received the item (last time I use non-registered delivery!). Even though I had transferred the payment into my bank account, when the buyer started a dispute against me, PP pulled the money back out of my bank and held it in limbo until the dispute was resolved.

If you think about how many open disputes there must be, PP mustl be raking in the interest on all the "cash in limbo"!

    Ah couldn't mind less!
  • Just received an email from Paypal, they have recovered the money I paid out and have refunded me the £31.99 I payed for the game. I filed the claim on 6th Dec and received the refund email today. Looks like Paypal came up trumps for a change.

  • Mutley thats great news. I've registered my claim with Paypal and need to wait until the 22nd. They have said that if Tigergame do not respond the claim will be found in my favour. Fingers crossed I'll get the £62 i spent refunded.

Nice to hear some good news.....
  • Hi. I was pleased to find this link, but disappointed to confirm my suspiscions.
I too purchased a game, two weeks ago, paid through PayPal and just new something was up when the there was no ID number for PayPal transaction and the item did not turn up! I am trying to make a claim through PayPal, not that it will be worth my while if they take £15 for the claim, but I feel that it is a principle of the matter that I want to make. Good luck to the rest of you.
