Me too. I ordered gears of war on the 29th of Nov.......I also had the email a few days later.....I paid by paypal and have filed a complaint........for what that's worth........I would be very suprised if paypal refund anyone.......it would be nice to hear from anyone that gets a refund.........the tigergame website is still up and running.......can anyone report the website as fraudulent because I'm sure tigergame will be taking lots and lots and lots of orders over the coming days........surely the website can be shutdown , Can it??...........any ideas..........anyone...........

I suppose it depends on if you can find who hosts the web site which will more than likely be again Thailand which you've no chance of shutting it down. The sad thing is that allot of sales of copied clothing, software etc goes to fund drugs and other nasties like that. There are not many selling them who are trying to keep the roof over their heads, something really doesn't need to be done about this. I think Trading Standards have a link up with an international fraud equivalent so it may be worth contacting them to see if they have had any more complaints and if they can do anything, after all the company does seem to have some address in the U.K. but that could be false but it's worth checking out.

You should be able to get something back from paypal but they usually take the first £15 from a claim. But if the money from your paypal was funded through your credit card you can claim it back through that. I try to make sure my CCis the primary funding source for all my paypal purchases, having been stung once before.
  • Hi Poppycat, forgive my ignorance, but who are the rapidswitch people? Are they the people we should be reporting Tigergame to, or are they the people it's registered to?

Thanks for your help with this everyone - it's so annoying to be conned like this - though I must say the site is a very slick and convincing design...I suppose that just means it's a good con....bah! I just hope people google the site before they buy so they see these messages as there's going to be lots of people without Christmas presents this year...

    :(
  • well lets hope so, I see paypal as an evil necessity......trading on ebay is a lot easier with it........luckily I did not use my Credit card......the worrying thing is......when CC details are entered into a fraudulent site ..........should you worry?.......I'm not an alarmist by any stretch of the imagination....but it did get me thinking......'what if ' ............I have spent the last hour looking around for web sites that cover scam websites..........all to no avail........I tried trading standards too...........link after link........all which point to....nothing........any ideas anyone.........I also wrote an email to edge mag asking them to warn any subscribers of the web site..........

let's hope the site and owner gets what it deserves..........shutdown!

Kate I think rapidswitch is there host, as I found it in the whois (infro who who owns domian name and IP address of there hpst)
  • Exactly the same thing happened to me except that I did receive something. It was a child's cheap-looking dvd cartoon instead of the PS2 game I'd ordered. With the disc there was an invoice not made out to me but to someone else and not for the item I'd ordered, nor for the one I received. I tried to contact this person, after trying to get a reply from Tiger, and discovered that the address on the invoice was false, as was the email address and the phone number.

I'm just so cross that Tiger have apparently been making a lot of money out of all of us customers. £20 is not a vast sum to lose, although it's bad enough, but when you add all these £20s up, it must be a lot!

Has anyone had any success claiming through PayPal?
  • I've started a claim through paypal, but I'm not holding my breath. Like you I lost just over 20 pounds - but it sounds like in the two weeks they've been up and running quite a lot of people have lost their twenty pounds!

Is there some way to use consumer power to bring down the website? Oh where are all the hackers and spammers when you need them?* (*This is a joke and not a serious suggestion as I'm sure any such devious revenge is illegal and inadvisable. Probably)

Important Notice for all customers who purchased from this website between the 26th of November and the 2nd December.

We are having difficulties with PayPal who are our credit and debit card processor, the net result is that many of the payments between 26th November and 2nd December have not been fully processed (ie the payments have not been passed from the credit card processor to ourselves), and we are currently unable to process a number of orders that took place within that period.

If you placed an order between those dates and your order has not arrived then we strongly suggest that you contact paypal or your credit/debit card provider and request a full refund, we will cooperate fully with any and all refund requests but we regret that we cannot enter into any communication directly.

If you hold a paypal account, simply make a claim through paypal and your money will be refunded by paypal. If you are not a paypal customer and you simply used your credit/debit card then you need to contact your bank or credit card company who will process a refund. (note that it is your right to demand a refund after non-delivery)

Note: It is with deep regret that we have issued this notice, but please understand that if we have not been paid and are unable to process your order, the fact that paypal have charged your card does not indicate that we have been paid, we are simply unable to process your order and no amount of good will on our part can change that.

Our greatest concern is that no child should be without a game that was ordered for xmas, we have taken the step of sending this notice to every customer and displaying it here in order that the situation should be clear and transparent, if you ordered a game between 26th Nov and 2nd December which has not yet arrived, assume it will not arrive and you need to take steps now to order the game(s) elsewhere to avoid disappointment on Christmas Day
    Come on you Irons
  • Have just seen that message on the front page of the Tigergame website. What a load of old rubbish eh?

"Our greatest concern is that no child should be without a game that was ordered for xmas, we have taken the step of sending this notice to every customer and displaying it here in order that the situation should be clear and transparent"

They're all heart, these scum-sucking fraudsters aren't they. I bet their children are getting a bumper haul of presents this year!

I see all products have been taken off the site - I expect (hopefully)it'll disappear completely in a day or two, so fingers crossed no one else gets sucked in.
  • I used to think paypal where bias towards the buyer, when using ebay......... because , if a buyer claims 'item not received' or 'item not as described' , paypal will launch an 'investiagation ' almost immediately.

The buyer , be they honest or not is generally given a refund , even when the seller can provide sufficient evidence or postal proof. ..

the seller is then left high and dry , abandoned by the friendly staff at paypal....and told to report the matter to the local police!!!!

    cavet empor indeed!

Now it seems this seller has written his own get out clause. I know " paypal suck dot com " ..........but is this some sort of attack against paypal , if so I hope it highlights just how crap paypal really are..........Come on don't hide behind paypals shortfalls and loop holes. Why not come clean? , No HOPE is better than False hope!!......

with the science of hindsight we now can all see how the system has been exploited,

I for one would rather you rub my nose in it, than to be told a big fat Xmas lie ( the worse lie of all )..........

Don't get me wrong, I no way condone the behaviour of these thieves, especially callous Christmas money thieves .......let's face it it looks like tigergame are little more than that..........I sincerely hope EVERYONE gets a full refund, be it from tigergame paypal or their CC company and furthermore I hope the driving force behind this scam are mauled by their namesake beast....
not too much to ask for is it??
