get the message that that phone number is no longer in service...

Hi guys Im after your opinions on whether Citi Bank may accept us or not,
Knowing nothing about credit checks or the lingo I hope someone can assit.

We have a DMP with several creditors and have been coping ok since last year, unfortunatley we have struggled quite badly the last few weeks as our bank Smile took our overdraft facility away (as it was only a years agreement) then our car got stolen etc etc, so we have had a hairy few weeks with a couple of returned direct debits and going unautherised overdrawn on the account.

We have managed to get back in the black with smile but will these hiccups go against us?

Seems citi bank have gotten tough! I started reading this thread wilth hope and it has slowly dissappeared after each page I read

I've had my citibank account since about April now and it's all ok.

Just for people who are worried about acceptance, although all of my defaults were cleared and off my record, I still had 2 CCJ's (both satisfied but still showing on my credit report as 3 and 4 years old) and therefore a pretty poor credit rating and I got accepted.

Just as another note, having had this account with Citibank for the past few months as mentioned above, I decided to apply for one of their credit cards last week.

Today I received one of their Platinum cards with a £6,000 limit.

Who did you put down as your main bank account? Citi or another bank?

I applied for a loan and got declined within seconds!

Citi, but I also got another credit card with Halifax accepted instantly as well, so my credit rating must have improved significantly.

As far as I know, the acceptance criteria for loans is a lot stricter than credit cards.
