Yes, they said to me that if they needed anymore ID they'd let me know but I thought it was worth throwing some extra bits in anyway ...

Good luck with the application ... :o

So are the thoughts from people that maybe you are better applying for the £10 a month account? That way they might be more willing to accept you if they think they are going to make £120 a year out of you. Maybe thats the way to go then, I guess you could probably change it to just the standard account after a month or 2 anyway.

Have any of the people declined applied for the plus account? And which people accepted applied for the standard account.
  • If you think about it, Citibank were NOT a widely heard of financial organisation prior to this thread. I only applied to them because of this forum and my husband's abysmal credit rating.

I think it may well be that because of the increase in demand for their services that they are being more selective, maybe if you aren't putting £1500 or your salary in, maybe they aren't interested. Could also be that the more clients they have, that do have less than perfect credit ratings, they may think they have to decline a certain number on the basis of risk.

I have been declined too - I don't have any ccjs, just some late payments - and quite a lot of accounts up-to-date too, and a salary of £38k. I think they must have tightened up their criteria.

    Wow ... I'm very surprised ...

I think some of us have just been lucky and somehow slipped through the net .... They're doesn't appear to be any standard criteria ...
