I just tried to add my citi account to Paypal but it says that my account doesn't allow electronic Direct debits.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I wanted to change everything over so I could close my RBS account.

Anyone know how I can sort this out? I haven't had any problem changing any DDs over and my tax credits went into my account today as it should have done so I can't see what the problem would be.

Hi I have read that citi debit card is having some problems with paypal. I think you should contact citi as well as paypal.

Hi I too had problems with this, so I just put in my halifax cashcard account instead, I dont think paypal likes citibank, or just doesnt recongnise it.

I think they only make a search if you apply for the overdraft facility.

  • Went to Nationwide today and they provided me with a 'certified' copy of my driving licence stamped and signed with no problem at all.
I've sent this back to Citibank 1st class recorded so I'm keeping everything crossed.
Thanks so much for all your replies.

but surely the ones who got rejected was because of a credit check,

can anyone confirm that they had a credit check,

i was just thinking perhaps they have only just started doing them

if you had a search it would show up straight away??

if i apply for anything it shows literally the next day

I got accepted today. I shifted to UK from Sweden about 6 months ago therefor I dont have any credit history at all and this is the first bank account I have opened here. I just sent them a photocopy of my passport without any verification and a utility bill.
I think it depends on your luck but as more and more people are being rejected there is a chance that they have started doing checks on the credit files.

  • Hi

OH & I successfully opened a Citibank account and got a 3 in 1 card with cheque book and guarantee card. I am thinking of maybe opening an account in just my name as a back up:confused: How much would I need to put through it?

    Thanks
    PP

Approx how many people have been rejected now?

    My pack arrived today.

I have my passport and bank statements. No bills (they're inclusive in my rent) and no chequebook. Will the passport and bank statement and a letter saying I have no chequebook be sufficient ID?
