  • I've just spoken to the lovely people @ Citi regarding a cheque guarantee card & yes, I'll need to be on the plus account for that, they will look at accounts after three months & whether i'll get one depends on how i've managed my account NOT external credit checks YAY a bank with a brain :j

    Hi,
    I got my ids back today and a letter stating that my application is being processed and that if successful they will tell me within 15 days. They also stated in the letter that they will let me know if the want some more documentation. I hope they dont ask for any more id stuff.
    I will let you people know if I get this account or not.

    This question is going to make me look sooooo stupid but here we go.:o
    How can I tell which account I have? Do I have the access account or the plus account?
    I want to be on the account that lets you apply for a cheque guarantee card after 3 months but I'm not sure if I have that or not.
    If I log on to online banking it just says I have a current account but doesn't say which one.:confused:

    There are a few ways you can tell what account you have,

    1st - Did you apply via the quidco link? If so you will have the Plus account.

    Failing that call - 0800 005500 - Then press *0 to speak with a operator

    DanDan123 Just phoned Citi, and my application is STILL under process! I am starting to lose hope and give up!

    Hey don't lose hope, Just remember they are getting lots and lots of application so they will take a little longer, If I can get this account and my rating is shocking then I am confident you will be ok.

    Thats good to know, I sent them a message asking for a payin book and a cheque book 3days ago and I got it today, so it would be handy to have a cheque card too.

    Hi, I wasn't sure either so I phond citibank and they informed me that my account was still the 'Sterling Current Account' and that I would receive a letter in the post informing me about the upgrade to Citibank Plus in the near future. Its the plus account that gives you the Cheque Guarantee card.

    WOOHOOOOOOO!!!

    I've just rang them for an update and the nice lady said "I'm happy to let you know we have opened an account for you"

    Sooooooo happy! I have an appaulling credit rating so am over the moon, just sent off my unfair charges letter to Natwest now that I have another account I can use in case they close mine

    There is hope people, yay! Thanks to everyone who convinced me to take a chance and apply, it's actually quite pathetic how chuffed I am lol :o

    I know exactly how you feel :j I can't reclaim my bank charges though, cos I'm a discharged bankrupt the charges would go straight to the official receiver:p . But I still have my nice new bank account so I am happy.:D
