Am sorry have limited internet access,

First thank you all for info on basic accs very useful.

I have applied for a citibank acc and got letter asking for documents i dont have any bank statements or bills from where i live. Live with parents and no bank acc anymore and in rage burnt all statements!

Can i just send them my passport and driving license?

And is it defitnely ok not to send a £1 if you send more ID.

    Thank you very much

I would suggest you get copies of your bank statement to send as I think you might struggle to open the account just with a passport and licence. They want proof that you live at the address you say and also additional id for not having a cheque book

similar problem for my son as he lives with me, but he sent off a bank statement, £1 cheque, tax form that he got from the jobcentre when he stopped signing on, a letter from the DWP stating he was no longer getting benefits, a photo copy of his passport, and that's all so if they want anything else they will have to ask, you need to prove that you live at this address with your parents, so you wont have any bills in your name, so send then what you have got , e.g. medical number card you get from your GP with your details on, or something else like that, hope you get it sorted, and if you haven't got a cheque book send a covering letter saying you dont have a cheque book.

I sent them a BT bill and instead of a cheque I sent them a colour photocopy of my passport. I hope they dont ask for any more ids as I dont have any other to show.

I only sent them 2 bits of ID and a covering letter .. and that was sufficient so you should be ok ..
