I quite like them, they did make a boo boo on clearing a cheque, despite there being more than sufficient funds (cheque for £21) they bounced it back as insufficient funds...
Rang them up, quite cross as I had a letter saying I'd be charged £25, the admitted the error and credited my account with £15 as a goodwill gesture, I wouldn't be charged the £25 and promised to write a letter to me stating they were wrong, which I received the following day.
Other than that, fairly pleased, although my work forgot to change my bank details in time so I'm having to transfer money over to them via the net!£2 Coin Savers Club (Christmas)- £86£1 Jar (Christmas)- £29Christmas Vouchers Saved: £1450 -
they seem a very nice bank, but maybe too nice, as I'm wondering what the catch is, and when we are all going to be jumping ship, but hopefully they are just a nice bank and wish I'd known about them sooner.
Pls be nice to all MSer's

Hi,
Sent my application yesterday with a BT bill, colour photocopy of my passport and a letter stating that I dont have a cheque book at the moment. I stated in the application that I dont want the overdraft but also that I am not going to pay my salary in the account yet. I shifted to UK about a year ago from Sweden and I have managed to get my credit file registered with equifax but I dont have a lot of credit history due to which I havent been able to open a bank account yet or get a credit card.
Do you people still think that I will be accepted by the citibank for their current account???
Is there any minimum monthly balance to be maintained in the citibank current account? If yes and you do not maintain that balance will you be fined or what?<<If you liked what I said then feel free to click on the thanks button>>0 -
Hi
Have been reading these boards for past couple of months. Just wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone (esp. saint.sgx and dexter's mum) for all the information and re-assurances.
I applied for Citibank account couple of weeks ago (having had Natwest Step for past 5 years whilst trying to payback various debts) Welcome letter and PINs came through today. Woo Hoo - proper debit card at last.
Thanks again - and if anyone is still thinking about it - go for it - Citibank seem to treat everyone as adults and are polite on the phone. it all seems great so far.

Firsly I think you will get the account as you have already said you have the evidence to supprt the application stage. I am not sure if there is a min amount that you need to pay in to the account, I do know that you need to pay in a certain amount to have the £500 overdraft.
It would appear that Citi are very flexiable when it comes to opening accounts, Let us know how you get on.If I have been helpful - Hit the Thanks button0 -

I haven't been home yet to check my mail but my wages department have just given me a letter asking them to start paying my wages into my Citibank account. It's got my account and sortcode on it. I am so happy
I want to go home and check my mail but I cant. :j
If they give me an account they will give anyone an account, I was discharged Feb 2006 and haven't even started cleaning up my files yet, plus I have a CCJ on there from Nov 2006 (although I am disputing it).
My advice is to go for it. I only wish I'd gone through Quidco but never mind theres always the savings account.
Will let you know what card I'm getting when I get home. :T
