  • Hi everyone

Brilliant hearing about this - thanks for the tip OP! I'm about to apply for a joint account for the OH and I.......anyone want to give me their details for a referral (i.e the wine for both of us?!) :D

One other thing - I don't mind paying £1,500 / mth plus in, but not my actual salary (I don't really want to change my bank details from work etc).
Would citibank "know" it wasn't my direct monthly salary payment from work, or is the requirement just for at least £1,500 a month to be paid in? Would it matter if this came from more than one account (e.g £750 from me and £750 from my OH??)

TIA.......prompt reply would be *brill* as I want to apply now (inpatient much  ;) )

  • Hi IW
If you just put that you'd put your salary in, you are more likely to get the 3in 1 cheque guarentee and a visa debit card rather than just the visa debit card, so this may be a plus for you. I don't think you even have to put £1500 in every month in reality to be honest!

  • I did'nt actually say that I was putting my wages in just an amount of £1000 per month, but I did say I'd be using it for DD's and SO's and I got the 3-1 card. I wonder how they do work out who gets what. as I also got a cheque book.

  • OK, another question guys! :o

I am planning to apply for a current account (joint) via quidco for the £50 (of course! ) but I was wondering if it's possible to get both the £50 and the wine (from getting a referral).

Is this possible, while opening only one account? I don't want to open a single and joint account if possible.....

TIA for any advice / help.......was hoping to apply tonight, but want to see if I can be greedy and get wine too :rotfl:

  • the anwser is no, but if you quidco £50 current account then wait for all your details then quidco £30 flexisaver account at a later date, thats £80 and go buy some wine with that.

  • I actually did this for my son 2 weeks now and heard nothing from citibank, so am going to go through quidco again for the current account and get him £50. but I also went through quidco for myself for the flexisaver2 account but have'nt got anything back from that either, so I dont think the link is working as I rang citibank on friday and asked if they'd got anything through about it and they said no.

  • Just as a guide, i've got a bad credit rating, 2 active defaults and 3 settled ones, and I got a normal visa debit card, not the 3-1 card? I'm not bothered, I've not wrote a cheque in years (except to get this account) And no overdraft despite £1650 being deposited by salary per month. Not that any of that matters, i'm just so glad to ditch the solo!

Thanks for the tip about citibank, they are just like a famous fast food restaurant, i'm loving it!
  • I've got a credt rating similar to the above - a couple of defaults and a couple of settled ones. I only got the debit card not the 3 in 1. Bus like above the only cheque i've ever written from my current account was to open this account.

I also am putting in my salary around £1230 paid 4 weekly, never recieved the overdraft either but am not too worried about that i'll clear the overdraft with RBS with what i'm claiming back in charges from them.

Was the only thing that held me from claiming a while ago the fact that no-one else would give me a full debit card which I use very often as I don't like carrying cash (too easy to spend).
  • My hubby has 2 CCJ, numerous defaults and he got a 3 in 1 card too, not quite sure what their criteria seems to be, but they do say if after 3 months your account conduct is satisfactory, if you were given a 2 in 1 card, they may upgrade you to the 3 in 1 card!

Oh reading your posts has now made me weary, your creidt ratings seem excellent compared to mine:eek: so I might be the unlucky one that gets turned down. I hope not so can you please all keep your fingers crossed for me?;)
Thanks I will let you know how it goes.
