If Lloyds are a sister bank can you not take your ID to them and get them to certify it or would that be too easy??? Any one tried it???

As far as I know you can only take your details and ID to citi bank. Even though they are part of Lloys I believe you can only use there counter services.

    Hope that helps

I guess you wont have any other photographic ID, You could send additional id such as a bank statement, council tax bill, rent statement, copy of your bank card with your signature on it, Phone/gas/electric bill. Just send them additional id so that they will not have to request more from you. Always worthwhile popping in a letter to.
    Example,

    Dear XXXX

As I do not have a cheque book I have enclosed additional id for your information. Please find enclosed XXX in addition to id you requested.

    Hope that helps

Has sending a bank draft worked or does it have to be a cheque from your actual account?

  • Hi All

I've been lurking round this forum for about a month now and have been reading the Citibank posts with avid interest ..

Anyway, 2 weeks ago I decided to take the plunge and apply for a citibank account .. and I honestly thought I have a cat in hells chance of getting it.

I currently use the Co-op Cashminder account and had recently applied for a couple of credit cards and a mail order account but had been turned down due to a lack of credit history (as I've not had any loans or credit cards for quite a some years now)

As it goes .. I got back my ID back from Citibank last week (for those of you currently applying, I only sent them a Council Tax Bill and a BT bill plus a letter stating I didn't have a cheque book) and today I have received my Welcome Pack ... which says my card and PINS will follow. :T

Looking foward to seeing which card I get but decided to join the forum to say thanks to those of you who told us about the account and spurred others on to join ... So THANK YOU .... :j
