    Hello All,

I thought you guys might be interested that ICESAVE seems to be a total waste of time. Their customer service is extremely poor and it seems impossible to remove funds from your account if you didn't fill in their optional direct debt mandate during the account creation process!

Not a happy customer at all!

When opening your account did you pay a small amount in (over and above the £250 minimum) and then try withdrawing it before committing larger amounts? Just to check everything was working?

I've had no problems with my IceSave account.
    Where now?

I've had an account with them since the first mention of them in Martins email. Not had any problems either pulling or pushing money in. I've even pushed one amount of £70 in from my bank even though there terms state deposits should be £100 min.
The DD simplifies things for me, the odd amount of £70 pushed in was simply because it was from an account other than the two I've set up with the DD's.
What I haven't yet tried to do is withdraw any money......;)
    ;) debt free...yippee

Had no problems with Icesave at all. Works like a charm and I have £8,000 stashed away there.

I have had the unfortunate experience to speak to ice Save customer service on several occasions, sent countless emails (to no reply) and still my questions and concerns go unanswered. It seem if you use a mac, or have a question your not welcome.

Time to look else where for somewhere to save.

I use a Mac and have had no problems at all - what browser are you using?
  • I was on hold for 55 minutes before being connected. Their recorded message said that waiting time was 12 minutes. If anyone's interested and doesn't want to waste their time, their bank details for making a chaps payment into your Icesave account is:

    Sort code: 203253
    Account no. 80469947
Ref: Your account no. starting 55A

Oh dear, I have just opened an account but I seem to be waiting for them to send me an access number or something. As for Biham Midshires, their account opening process was a nightmare. Their blurb says you can open an account from just £1 NOT ONLY £1.I sent £2000 and they promptly lost £1999. The first person I spoke to was a dopey girl who couldn't care less and said she had no idea where this money was. The second time I phoned I got a bright lad who seemed quite concerned and said he would sort it out which he did. It's not possible to send them secure emails either.
Internet banks are supposed to save time and manpower so why do we have to phone all the time? Then I noticed I could send money by electronic transfer but their booklet did not say that the A/c they quote is for CHAPS payments so the second lot of money - a large sum, also got lost in their holding account. I'll be closing this account so I do hope I have better luck with Ice Save.

Funny you should say this about BM. I transferred £1500 in November from my Nationwide to BM (my first attempt at a transfer). A week later I checked my BM account and the money was not there. I rang their Customer Services department and they said to check with Nationwide as they had not received the money. NW said they had sent the money and there was no way it could have gone missing.... after more calls over a couple of weeks I was told there had been a problem with the computer system and my money was probably in a holding account and would be sorted and my interest would be backdated. Eventually it turned up but was not credited on the day I transferred but about 2-3 weeks after. I wrote and complained and they offered me £25 to consider the matter closed.

I accepted this mid December. I checked my account today and the £25 has still not been credited!!!!!

So if you think IceSave is bad you should try BM. I am looking to move all my money out of BM as soon as they have paid me my £25 and I think IceSave will be the benefiting company
  • I have been recommended ICESAVE and HISAVE as a good accounts. But I am not able to contact ICESAVE and clarify certain things . Till now I have tried thrice for 10 minutes each and have not been able to contact them. Its paid number and have already lost money on it instead of gaining. not a good experience on that.

I have heard lot about delays in response. Therefore wanted to know how long will it take to open the account and what are the documents required to open the account. Are there any restrictions in transferring out money whenever I want to.

I am able to contact HISAVE call centre and got good response. but not heard good things about them in blogs. Not sure which one should I go for.
