Ok, I'm a newbie moneysaver and am rather intrigued by this thread (I tried to follow it for a couple of days but am a bit confused).
Do you walk round the store noting the shelf prices because I nearly always forget what the price of something should be before I get to the til (have never bought anything expensive from Tesco yet though - Im sure I'd remember the price of something like that).

Any tips please (I really dont want to trawl through hundreds of tesco posts)

Have a look at the last paragraph here

I'm sure that they could come up with a 'reason'.

Thanks and I think you are right but I am sending the following email to DVLA for confirmation! With any luck someone somewhere might follow this up and prevent dear Mr T from doing any such thing!

    Dear Sir/Madam

I have reason to believe that a major supermarket chain have been recording vehicle registration numbers of customers whom they believe to be 'abusing their refund policy' i.e. the customers are not committing any kind of theft or illegal act but are asking for refund as per the company policy of returning all the money spent on an item that has been overcharged at the till and in addition allowing the customer to keep the item. The supermarket chain seem to believe that some people are deliberately looking for overcharges in order to get refunds and keep the goods (completely legally as this is what the company policy displayed prominently in all stores and advertised on television clearly states). I would very much appreciate your answer to the following questions:

If the supermarket in question do record vehicle registration details and apply to the DVLA for details of the owner's name and address, would you consider they had ''reasonable cause' and supply them with this information even though the customers had not committed any illegal act?

If a customer commits a parking offence on the supermarket's premises (e.g. overstaying the 2 hour maximum stay or parking in a disabled space) would you consider this is 'reasonable cause' and supply owner's name and address if requested by the store?

If a security guard records details of vehicle registrations and states (in a threatening manner) that s/he will be applying for driver's details from the DVLA in order to ban said customer from the store and circulate the information to all the company stores nationwide would you a) consider that this is legal and b) supply the information?

Thanking you in anticipation of your response

Which is the overprice on? HB or 2H? Or is it a multibuy that doesn't come off?
    ;)
