Tesco misprice discussion area part 15

Further to my post earlier this morning, I'd be interested to find out if it is legal for Tesco to photocopy (badly) game covers to put out on display.
My guess is that this would be an infringement of copyright and I dont see why they do it to be honest, they could put empty cases out in those security boxes or I even know of one store that goes to all the effort of actually taking out the paper cover from the game cases and putting that in a security box! :rolleyes:Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
One other tactic Tesco CS use with the lean steak mince ( and other meat products) is to look for tiny discrepencies between the SEL and packaging. They will claim that it mince is not steak, or it is steak is lean not extra lean, or it states british on the label but not on the SEL etc etc. It can be an almost endless argument (with a consequent raising of profile) with the meat manager, the CS manager and a store manager all involved over a refund of a couple of pound. It's amazing how loyal they are, trying to fend off a genuine overcharge with their spurious nonsense ....... then they will go down the road of offering you the difference .. and after 45 minutes of being treated like a piece of dog sh** , you will eventually get your money back.
Now there's my rant for the day - I feel much better0 -

My local Sainsburys has black and white photocopies of the games in their plastic cases. They look horrible, especially in a big display. I wondered why they don't just put a dummy cover in the case?DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0 -

How many times have we ALL heard these arguments form the CS staff. It's enough to put anyone off RnRing - well almost:DDTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0 -

Nope you're not missing anything, obviously the stores near you dont do this.
Some stores will break open a sealed game and put an empty box in the security case, some will photocopy the covers and put them in a security case (or some just put them on DVD cases you take to CS) and some take the paper out of an unsealed game and put that into a security box.
Why?
You guess is as good as mine!
The photocopies look awful and really unprofessional, cheap and nasty.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

What annoys me even more though is when they ask why you bought 3 or 4 of the item!
Bloody cheek!

Interesting, how do you balance this with current consumer legislation? If an item is faulty it is replaced or refunded at the purchasers discretion, not the retailer?0 -
today I found some sirloin steaks priced 12.47 per kg on a shelf that had a big yellow SEL saying 10. XX per kg, admittetedly I looked for and found the only two that were priced this amongst a sea of steaks that had yellow stickers on sayin 2.50 off per kg. the packs were identical, sirloins were named the same. I paid for and took to CS the more expensive ones and she came back and said the dates were different and the ones I bought werent on offer only the ones with the stickers on. Backed down on account I'd just got 3 copies of Cars on DVD!!! & I didnt want to push it.
Expereineced r & r's was I right to expect an R & R in this case & should I have stood my ground & said they were on that shelf & it's not my job to check dates blah blah ? Or would you let it drop for not raising profile ?
Finally, are meats the best bet to go for when you go shopping? Do their prices change regularly? The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, For children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.0 -
