I must admit, if I ever get a hard time from CS staff or managers, then I do my best to R&R the trolley off of their stores.
I tend to go with "Revenge is a dish best served cold" in these situations. Leave it for another day.

EDIT: I must also admit that I do agree with Tescoemployee on one thing, if someone who is trying to get an R&R is stupid enough to metion they saw it on here, they deserve to be given grief. Whether the CS staff think you are trying it on or not (however obvious it may be) saying you saw the misprice on here is the single most stupidest thing you could do when R&Ring (besides headbutting a manager or something)
Agree completely and utterly with this point. You may as well just ask them directly never to be allowed back in the stores again!

yes, its just moronic boasting about where you got your 'information'.

Might as well have a target painted on your forehead!!
  • Tescoemployee is here to wind us up, in my opinion.

Does that make him a troll ? Probably.

However I do not believe that he (or any other Tesco employee) is able to stop the missprice situation. Do you all really think that Tesco WANT to give away all these R + Rs` ? It happens because Tesco as an organisation is incompetent, slow and unwilling to change their attitude. I believe they pay their staff poorly, and consequently the staff are unmotivated and really dont care about the totally illegal repetitive overcharging of customers on a daily basis. I would feel the same if I worked for an empoyer who didnt care if I was satisfied in my job, or payed me peanuts. And was automating the tills to avoid paying staff to even sit there and take my money.

CS staff get wound up by the constant barrage of returns and overcharges - they have to deal with Tesco !!!! ups on a daily basis too. I have seen other customers talk to CS staff as if ALL mistakes are THEIR fault - I would get pee`d off with that too. A smiling face and a polite attitude has got me far in my R + R career.

This is why CS get stressed out, and end up reacting badly to us lot playing the system.

So Tescoemployee - please keep on posting your comments and trying to scare the newbies into thinking you can do ANYTHING to stop this situation - I need a good laugh. You really have no power at all in the face of the unstoppable muck up that is Tesco Pricing Integrity department. And the Marketing dept. ? thanks for my Xboxs !

And another thing - if you read the old threads you will see that many of these arguments recur on a regular basis.

Some of the more popular are :

    * Tesco are watching me / have me on CCTV / will raid my house tonight
    * Tesco are about to stop the R + R policy (not happened yet - and its been going for years)
    * R + R is wrong / immoral / poor tesco are losing out - this is covered at length on the ethics thread.

and of course, the all time classic posts are these two :

    * I`m new to this R + R thing - how do I do it, how do I know whats over-riced, where can I get an Xbox ?

    * Joe Bloggs - you have a pm

(BTW McDonag - hope you are OK mate, havent seen you on here for a while)

Love to Tesco employee - keep it up mate.
  • Sorry for long post above - couldnt stop once I started. Like eating Pringles.

As far as the "Tesco are watching me" comment is concerned, I know of at least two stores that keep a very close eye on people who are using the price check scanners. And I know that for a fact.

My advice for Newbies would be to avoid using the scanners at all costs, if you see something posted on here as working (ie. the triple DVD packs) then 9 times out of 10 you can be sure they will work for you, no need to scan them.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)
  • I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before but it certainly makes for an easy R&R.

If an item has been reduced and the reduced barcode label does not fully cover the original barcode, the scanner will in all probability scan the original barcode and not the barcode reduction.

I bought an item, reduced from £1.06 to 26p, but did not spot the overcharge until I got home. On checking the item, the new barcode label was only covering about the bottom third of the original one. I went straight back for my R&R. I am now checking all the reduced items for any badly placed (or in our case well placed) barcode reductions.:D
IF THIS POST HAS BEEN HELPFUL - PLEASE CLICK ON THANKS :j
  • The only result of this information at the store im at was extra investment into PI was made which resulted in our lowest r+r figures for over 6 months

Glad to hear you are one of the best stores at keeping R+R down (which must mean you are one of the better stores at charging the right price and therfore to be applauded). To be honest i thought that would be Constantines store but I know he likes to keep his location secret which is understandable :)

Anyway, if you ever need an independant verification of exactly how good your store is, just post the location or address on here and I am sure someone local to you could pop by and check you out :)
