  • I dont disagree that the policy is very generous, infact I told Sir Terry that in my letter I sent to him :rotfl:

Sainsbury's would never have a policy like this, they are just too stingy.

It gets to me when you go to CS and say I have been over charged on this xxxxxxx ok sir we will refund the difference. So you point out the policy to them, oh forgot about that!! Then you go in a week or so later and the same person has somehow forgotten about the policy again

I'm always polite to CS, I have been on the other side so I know what a crap job it is, but sometimes they are unbelieveable. And the thing is, it is not their fault because they are told by management to offer the difference.
We took on Mr T and we won:D

Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now

Has anyone seen the newspaper advert in the News of the World? (page 26), it has a picture of an X-Box 360 game WWF Smakdown Raw, they show it as priced at £24.94 (£5.05 cheaper than Woolworths) now it is of course supposed to be on the PS2 format - BUT it clearly shows it in an X-Box 360 box.

Who is brave enough to go for an r&r based on this advert?

i think it's very fair and brave for tescos to have this policy
i'm sure sainsburys doesnt advertise the fact
no wonder tescos are the market leaders and with an honest policy like that i couldnt blame them.
i for one dont shop in either of their competitors and although tescos have given me free stuff through their overcharging they have made more money from me due to my normal shop

I will that sounds good to me, does it say anything to the effect of:

Prices correct at time of going to press?

I cant believe you read the NOTW mate :D

Are there any get- out -clauses in small print about errors in printing or whatever? Or is there any mention of PS2?

Ok I've added an edit to the original post .....

Sorry not really, I somehow doubt you took the post seriously! ;)

I thought it was pretty clear what the post was. But obviously not.

It wasn't so much that I got anything wrong but that actually the Tesco staff got it wrong. To the extent that it was posted on the VLH forum.

The post was meant to highlight the lack of clarity & instruction within Tescos in regard to Price Promise Refunds.

Unfortunately I only read and digest what IS said in the posts.

Not what people may be assuming what others may want me to read into their posts.

I dont use these funny little faces either(although you may be able to find an odd occassion when i did)

Say what you mean.............mean what you say.

I can do "tongue in cheek" with the best of them...........but whats "tongue in cheek" to me.....may not be to others.

    Not getting at you personally.......

The policy is certainly carried out by some stores, as i posted earlier.

You are correct, Tesco dont know or understand their own rules.............So whats new........lol
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

I can't see any get out clause, apart from .....and its a bit of a problem , it says in a red bubble thing PS2 game save £5.05p, but it is clearly shown on an x-box 360 case.

but then I did manage to get an x-box based on the fact that the hexagonal promo box said save £19.xx and it did nfact only save me £17.xx.

I have just had a vision of the 'ever so efficient' Constantine racing down to his/her Games section and removing ALL traces of WWF Smackdown XBox before the inevitable rush starts.
