Tesco misprice discussion area part 15

I agree with above posts that Tesco should get their pricing right then there would be no R&R to moan about, and that hundreds of people would not get over charged unknowingly adding to Mr T's fat profits.
I have gained a few R&R items ( things that I have actually wanted) and very regularly do all my shopping there. I came home form my local yesterday ( was soooo nice not looking for misprices lol) and checked my receipt and damn! they had overcharged me on 2 of finest hams. My mother had also purchased these ....suppose thats what you get for not checking receipt as you come out eh!! ( and very unusual for me).
But as mentioned earlier there thousands of overcharging that goes on daily that are not acted upon..so until Mr T gets it right go and fill your trolleys guys!!!!!!!!!£900 towards next holiday...ta very much Mr T x0 -
jediross wrote:Just got back from a visit to Mr T. Picked up Nokia 6070 on Tesco Mobile, £59.97 but should have £20 off due to their offer. Discount not taken off and only £20 refunded at Cs desk.
Opinions wanted on if this should be a full rnr and what steps I should take next if any.
They didnt mark receipt as £20 refunded either, if thats relevent.

ooro wrote:My experience is that the means of correcting a mis price is to remove the lower price or offer sel and therefore "legitimately" charge the higher price. Now if Tescos were better at doing this then would they not always charge the higher price and increase profits...
And how many times have you gone back to the store and seen the old label put out again?ooro wrote:I think we will see more situations where there are no sels or only higher priced sels even though meat or fish might have a lower price pr kg on the pack than the SEL - therefore no "overcharge" and no RnR, but no loss to profitability

Ok I've added an edit to the original post .....Hermann wrote:Have a read through VeryLittleHelps forums !!
This thread in particular ...

Notice the figures in the first post ....
I'm sure these people are just following the manual.
I now realise that while we have been joyfull in getting our refunds we are actually stitched up once again by MR T.
We are obviously supposed to be getting the extra refund!!!
You realise this means the Postman may have been diddled out of around £2K cash!!
EDIT : Please don't take this post literally !
I thought from the quote and liberal smileys it would clear that post is meant to be 'tongue in cheek'.
You are not meant to get double refunds, but so much confusion and lack of clear instruction from management exist that some staff do give the double refunds. The post was merely meant to highlight this.the_postman wrote:What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!leadhead wrote:And the guy who made the original, got it wrong anyway.
It wasn't so much that I got anything wrong but that actually the Tesco staff got it wrong. To the extent that it was posted on the VLH forum.
The post was meant to highlight the lack of clarity & instruction within Tescos in regard to Price Promise Refunds.0 -
What makes me laugh is the fact that the Tesco Employee is saying that they will remove the policy due to abuse which will prevent genuine customers getting what they are entitled to.
Really?
Holy smoke, you mean there are CS staff who actually give you the money back without you having to ask for it? What about "I will just give you the difference sir" or "I will take the 10% of the phone" or "I will refund the amount back onto your card and then charge you the reduced price?"
You can do a survey on this thread and I bet 99% of us have heard one of the above in our time from a Tesco Employee.
So dont come on here saying that it will affect genuine customers because that is total nonsense. Thousands of Tesco shoppers get over charged every day, a small amount of them will notice they have been over charged and wont know the policy exists so will just take the difference. A even smaller amount of people will know the policy and CS will them put them off with crap like "Oh it does not apply to electrical items"
I have been a price controller and it is not a difficult job. Systems were in place to ensure the prices were changed and that Multi buys were working, it is not rocket science !!!!!! just ask Constantine. We took on Mr T and we won:D
Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now :beer:0 -

I always look for your posts 306 but like almost everyone else on this thread, I do think Tesco and their staff tak a lot of unfair criticism !.
Their refund and retain policy is very generous indeed and I admit to taking full advantage of the policy, as I always say, Asda and Sainsbury don't offer this and I have been overcharged at both these suoermarkets !, mispricing is certianly no worse at Tesco but if you are overcharged by Tesco you are very handsomely compensated !.
As for the staff, well yes sometimes some staff will try and wriggle out of their policy, but I have to say they are in the minority,.
So lets remember to be couteous to the staff and be grateful have this policy (unlike Sainsbury) and as for Asda (well please !, I wouldn't been seen dead in that place).
PS
How's your TV ?- courtesy of Tesco and their generous refund policy.0 -
Somehow I can't see T removing R&R and taking TS fines of £2000 a time.
I get a feeling there would be a lot of reported items to TS by MSE'rs if we lost this perk of their mistakes.
You never know T might just start getting prices right and we will have no more problems with CS or managers that have "I am sorry, what is this R&R thing you are talking about" pursed on their lips as soon as they are caught overcharging.
I doubt it will happen. But who am I to know.

Why not?, £2k every time is highly unlikely, come on lets get real
Refund the difference is the policy through the retail industry, they can take away this policy at any time.0
