Can you maybe do a major spring clean of your outgoings so you would not need to work? or mystery shopping and register as self employed? Freelance work of some sort? Your daughter is very young still. I thought they didn't 'make' you work until the child is 5. It does seem to be madness, the govt would save masses on unemployment figures if they did not count stay at home mums as looking for work, because we already have a job, being a Mum! Good luck;) I know what its like i went for interviews a few yrs back they want you to do days/hours that no way fit in with family life.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

Wouldn't you be classed as leaving your job voluntarily anyway as you could have returned to it after matermity leave?
When I had my DS, I left my job for the same reasons as you, would have had to work f-time for all my wages. Some months later a huge number of my husbands colleagues from his dept were made redundant and his job looked dodgy. My recently widowed grandmother had moved towns to nearby and offerred to help with childcare. I went to claim JSA contribution based and it was referred to a decision maker as I could have returned to my job. I am also pretty sure I had to agree that I was looking for f-time work. As it happened I found an evening/w'end job that suited before the decision maker made their mind up, but I was paid JSA in the interim.
The p-time job I found was in a convenience store (like a spar but an Independant chain) that sold lottery tickets, 2 evenings plus 1 5 hr shift on Sunday. 6 months later I changed to mon-fri 5pm-8pm in a DIY store.0 -

due to my partners wage all of his money goes on mortgage bills and his credit cards ( we have managed to get rid of one due to selling anything and everything in the house lol) we are left with 70 a month to buy food, nappies, clothes and other essentials!0 -

Okay, that's good.
What you need to do now is find examples of vacancies in your area that match those hours.
You need to demonstrate your reasonable prospects of finding employment within your restrictions.
This isn't about getting interviews or even about getting a job, it's about your availability.
I'm a little suprised, to be honest, because I would expect the decision maker to impose (or at least suggest) an alternative JSAg.
i have found examples and done all that but was still declined! i know there is a hardship allowance which is less than jsa (which doesnt make sense to me) but its not the point if you know what i mean how can i be refused it just because of the hours!0 -
APPEAL APPEAL APPEAL!!
And don't stop appealing it, even if they claim its their final decision.
I wasn't quite as 'restrictive' (using their words, not labelling you) as that, but as a Christian I put on the form that I would not work Sundays, and that my beliefs would preclude me from doing bar work or coffee shops, and that I would prefer not to work nights. They had no problem with putting my claim right through to payment... So I can't see how they can refuse you when you're looking for ANY work you can physically fit into your life. I think you need to make it clear that its not to do with wanting to stay home (even though it sort of is) and that its because any work you do would be negated by childcare costs (do remember that Child Tax Credits can pay up to 70% of childcare for you). Maybe putting that in writing might make them more reasonable?Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.- Mark TwainArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.0
