I'm not complaining about what I earn, just that I'm one of those that will always pay in but never take out. In fact, I doubt I'll ever use the amount of tax and NI I contribute because I have private medical cover, a private dentist, and I paid for my own higher education (part time so no public funding). I have my own private pension so my old age is covered too.

So because of my life choices I'll always be a net contributor many times over while the majority of others take out more than they put in (whilst whining about it online).

I'm beginning to think communism is a good idea.

But even in communism you'd be contributing more to the system than getting out (as the better educated, informed and more sensible person you clearly are), but you'd be worse off overall. I know you weren't complaining, so this is more to the people who do as you dao (private health, pension etc) but who do feel hard done by: IF YOU WANT MORE OUT OF THE SYSTEM THEN USE IT. If you've CHOSEN to take private medical then don't complain you don't get NHS care, or a discount on your NI contributions; you knew this was the case when you chose private care. If you've CHOSEN to take a private pension, you still get your state pension, but don't complain that you'll not qualify for pension credit. If you want to get more out of the system, I'll happily swap jobs with any one of you; you can work more than 40 hours a week for an absolute pittance and claim all the benefits you want because fact is YOU CHOSE TO BETTER YOURSELF AND TAKE PROMOTIONS TO EARN MORE MONEY, I haven't chosen not to, but I still have to claim everything I can get my hands on just to survive. Now, I'm only 26, so there's still plenty time for me to make my way up the ladder at which point I'll be more than happy paying more into the system, even if that means I end up paying more in than I'm now claiming. In fact, ESPECIALLY if I end up paying more back.

The one thing I do resent is the number of people who make benefit claimers look bad by not having an attitude of wanting to get off them and just feeling quite comfortable being paid for by the hard work of others. Its not a right, be grateful.

if you want to look after your daughter then do not expect the state to pay you for it. simple as. have you not heard of childcare or family. i dont see why taxpayers should have to go out to work in order that you can sat on your behind all day watching jeremy kyle and loose women.
i want to stop work and look after my dogs all day but i wouldnt expect to be paid for it

Might I recommend reviewing the OP. They aren't expecting to be paid to not work, they're expecting to receive the benefits that we're all entitled to while looking for work.
