im on this tarriff and not looking forward to changing!
bg is £275 more for me and eon SaveOnline v7 is £560 more.. why such a hike?
Are you using the energyhelpline? site. They compare what your options are, in relation to the default tariff you will be switched to, if you do nothing.
As all the current tariffs are higher than 12 months ago it gives a better comparison."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

i'm on fixonline version 8 also think I'll stick it out to the end and see what is available then, fingers crossed no price increases between now and then.
In regards to everyone thinking E.ON are going to sit up and take notice of the number of customers leaving who have been on Fixonline, in the grand scheme of things the customer numbers who are on Fixionline compared to standard and other products is very small thats why they only had it available for such a small period of time to limit the customers that signed up to it.
If everyone went on the cheapest tariffs as said previously suppliers would go bankrupt
Shame.
With all these time limit flexible tariffs, it just seems that the suppliers are happy for us to move around like fish in a bowl to the next best tariff. A bit like they are passing the parcel to keep them all a float.
Sadly we all pay the cost of the cost admin overhead to manage all the switching plus all the kick backs to the switching sites. If you move once a year I bet that is at least £100 year a time we shouldn't need to pay."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Interesting that not one person has said they're staying with E.On even though the price is high but because the service is great. Just shows that good customer service only goes in hand with a good product. I bet I'm not the only one who would seriously consider going back to E.On, but I won't be looking until my new fixed price tariff ends - and they'll still have to have a product that's financially attractive. Of course, they could have sold out to somebody else by then, due to falling customer numbers!
Not true Victor2.. I refer you to my earlier note in this thread....is that when you come to the end of the contract, the hike is significant, cos you've been immune to 1yr-18 months of price hikes. Once you come to terms with that (I have just had to!!) plus the fact that FOL8 was exceptionally cheap in relative terms due to the extra 18% discount, then the transition to another plan is less painful.
EoN have been good in providing energy monitors and encouraging tracking of energy useage - ie developing good energy behaviour - as such, the extra cost I now face is not quite so bad, as my family "behaviour" has improved!!
There is no way we would find anything close to the FOL8 deal today - fact.
Stu (a satisfied EoN customer!!) - oh, and I 've fixed to Apr 13 with them......:rotfl:
Been on FOL8. Switched to 1 Apr 13 fix this week, mainly due to EoN service and support, which has been excellent. I just need to get even more energy efficient to "absorb" the price increase!!:rotfl:0 -

Wouldn't it be great if you could just switch it all off:rotfl:

One final question Malc if I may....
If we opted for say OLS7 now could this be invoked post OLF8 maturity. No exit fee, discounts maintained and we get the "best" possible deal if we decide to stay?
TIA
Sorry for the late reply grizzly, I've been out of the office recently.
Remaining on Fixonline 8 until the end of the contract will make sure you receive all the discounts relevant to the tariff.
Changing tariff within E.ON before the end date could compromise this. Therefore I would wait until the end of Fixonline 8 and then see what the options are then.
I'm afraid, though, it's not possible to tell whether Saveonline 7 will still be available on 1 July 2011.

As the person who started this thread, I've now given up on e.on coming up with a better offer to tempt us to stay with them, and started the switch process away from e.on to Scottish Power. My daughter's done the same, for exactly the same reasons.
Time to jump ship, I think - all the fixed/capped prices are rising on an almost daily basis as tariffs get withdrawn and replaced with more expensive ones. Leaving it any longer looks like being an expensive option.
So long e.on, it was nice knowing you.0 -
Thought I'd understood all of this discount business. I was on FixOnline 7, which has now ended and I've arranged to switch to EDF. I was assured on here and by email from E.On that I would still get the discount up to the end of Fixonline, but assumed I would not get it on the standard EnergyOnline tariff they have now put me on. So, I phoned today to request a bill, before my final bill as changeover is due in about a week. It's not that critical and the discount would not be much, but I thought I'd try. So, I got confirmation that I would still get the discount on the FixOnline tariff, they took my readings, but said I can't request a bill now as one is not due until my final bill when I leave. However, the man said I would still get the EnergyOnline discount up to the time of leaving. Don't believe it, but will be interesting to see when I do get it.The EnergyOnline plan says there is 6% DD discount, 2% dual fuel and 2% online discount. Their T&Cs say that no discounts will be applied to the final bill, which is how I assumed it would be and is no big deal as I have only been on the tariff since FixOnline 7 ended. Having read on here that you can request a bill at any time, even when a switch is initiated, I thought I'd try. So I was a little surprised that the guy I got said I couldn't request a bill but I would get the discount up to the time of leaving.
So long as I get the discount on FixOnline, that's all I'm bothered about, and there doesn't seem to be a problem with that, so I'll just put it down to a bit of mis-information.
Sorry victor but it looks as though we've given you some duff advice.
I can confirm, you'll definitely receive all the discount applicable to Fixonline 7 even if part of this falls within the final bill. This is because you've completed the contract.
EnergyOnline is our standard default product which customers are automatically put on when their online tariffs end. As you say, it gives a discount of 10 per cent off standard prices.
However, this discount will not be given on the final bill.
I'm not sure about our agent's comments concerning being unable to issue a bill either. As long as your account is still active with us, it's possible for an agent to issue a bill. However, if the account has already gone over to EDF then the agent would have been correct.
Because of the amount of info that passes between the various industry bodies and the two suppliers during a changeover, it quite often happens that accounts switch sooner or later than the projected start date.
Again, sorry you've been given incorrect info victor but hope this makes things a little clearer. Let me know if you're still unsure about anything as will be happy to help.
