True, I am sure the EON rep has quoted that contracted term discounts will be kept and only the out of contract period of the final bill will not be discounted.

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3166208 is the thread. Eon have confirmed it by email as well. I've started to switch on the strength of that anyway!

Just thought I'd confirm, customers remaining on any of our contracted products up to the end date will receive all the discount applicable to the tariff even if part of this falls within a final bill.

I think the point that's being made is that unless e.on come up with a better deal than the ones they're currently offering, they're going to lose most of their customers to competitors. Nobody's expecting to get anywhere near FOL8 prices (that's unrealistic) but I'm still half-expecting a better fixed/capped offer than currently available from them.

No, you have diagnosed incorrectly. I have been driven insane by the worry of a mega-leap in energy prices, and have simply escaped into a better fantasy world. Think Jonathan Pryce at the end of Brazil.

    There is no way out.

    Hi Doc N

As brewerdave says, please be aware of our policy of not giving discount on final bills when changing supplier. If you move before the end of the contract on 1 July, you will not receive any of the Fixonline 8 discount on your final bill.

In this case, it will probably benefit you to ask for a bill just prior to your leaving date.

If E.ON know I am switching to another supplier are they obliged to produce a bill prior to my leaving date if I ask them to or will they just refuse knowing they don't have to discount my final bill and make the most out of me in my final few weeks?

Is the consensus that BG's websaver is likely the best deal available once fixonline 8 goes?

I'll echo the sentiment that it's a bit of a shame to switch as I've nothing negative to say about eon and the online experience is far better than most. Sadly with a circa £1200 annual spend I can't bring myself to take a big percentage hit without trying to minimise it!

Have BG stopped doing cashback? I Can't find them on Quidco.

    Thanks

Whilst you can request a bill at any time will it still include the discount?

Previous EON response suggest that once they know you are off that they cancel any discounts back to the last bill before they knew. i.e if last bill say April, they are told mid May and you go June prior to contract end date, all discount will be stopped as of the April bill.

The summary Internet tariff is silent on this it justs states that there is a penalty payment of £30.

OK - let's clarify that one, shall we?

Could the Company Representative confirm, please, that for anyone still on FOL8 (which ends on 1 July) they can put in readings at any point between now and 1 July, ask for a bill to be created, and keep the full discount on that bill - even if they leave eon before 1 July?

    Hi grizzly

Not sure what the previous E.ON response you mention refers to but if I can just clarify the point about discount on final bills.

When changing supplier, only the final bill will not include discount.

However, if a contracted product has been completed, all the discount applicable to this tariff will be given even if part of this falls within the final bill.

Bills issued prior to the final bill will include discount. Customers can request bills at any time.

Hope this is clear grizzly. Give me a shout if you need any more info as will be happy to help.

Hi Malc,I am another customer coming to the end of Fixonline8, trying to find another deal.

Reluctantly I will have to leave Eon, which is a great shame. I appreciate that Eon will not be able to continue to supply power at the cost I have been enjoying, but I am also reluctant to leave because customer service at your company is fantastic.

Is there no way that Eon could at least match the deals I have been offered with other companies? Is there any flexibility to do this?
I would love to stay a customer of your company, but sadly it may not be possible.

Sorry Doc N. Didn't see your question when I posted.

You can ask for a bill at any time. Just give us your readings and we'll issue a bill to these. Provided it isn't the final bill, all relevant discounts will be included.

Just a quick heads up though; if a change of supplier is in progress, you will need to contact us with the readings. You will not be able to use the real time billing function on our website.

Regarding Fixonline 8, there is a cancellation fee if the switch completes before the end of the contract.

Hope this answers your question Doc N. Give me a shout if you need anymore info as will be happy to help.
