I know, but everyone who has applied for a cashminder gets referred and asked to ring back a couple of days later unsure why. I wonder if you will get accepted? I quite like the Barclays cash account, could you get a current account any where?

I already have the Halifax account with overdraft which I have had for over 18 months but I would like a back up just in case. I find it hard to get a proper bank account because of the default on my Equifax file and the insane number of searches on my Experian file. I don't want to apply for anything proper for 6-9 months to allow a lot of them to drop off.

Yorkshire bank, Natwest, Barclays and HSBC do.

Thanks, has that postcode checker page always had the list of banks at the bottom?

I go on that page now and then in the vain hope that Abbey have got their finger out but I can't say I've seen the list before.

I've applied for an account with Nat West, just waiting for the stuff to turn up in the post now.

Well Co-op turned me down. It wasn't the credit search just "other factors" whatever they are.

    Thats unfortunate

I wish banks would be more open in their reasons

Who are you going to try now?
