Well for some existing Customer they have left Santander due to all the problems the bank seem to have i don't know if you would have the any problems with them but i do have a Paypal MasterCard credit card that Santander provides and i have no complaints it just seems to be just the bank that got some problems give them a shot thought.
I'm not with them but thinking of applying or to co-op for the cashminder account. I am fed up with natwest and only being able to get cash out of natwest ATM's!
Are they both visa debit?

So I applied for a basic account with HSBC, they ended up giving me a Student current account. Now I have a Debit Card and a Credit Card. What's the difference between the two and which one should I use?0

I can recommend the Co-op Cashminder account BUT be aware that the Visa Debit card is still recognised as an Electron card by some businesses.
The stations by where I live, operated by Merseyrail and Northern Rail, don't accept Electron cards.DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499
28th October 2019 - £13,505 - 27% paid off.

You dont know the difference between a debit card and a credit card??0 -
I opened a Barclays "basic" account and have been really impressed with the service I have received from them. They gave me a Visa debit card, online banking and an online savings account.
One thing I would recommend is not opening the account online but go into your local branch and explain why you want a basic account and why you have a bad credit rating.Thank-you to everyone who posts comps :beer:0
