I'm just looking at my credit report (free trial) and it says Natwest have done a search for the Step account i've just been accepted for. I thought they didn't search? Or is it just to prove i exist or something?

Only a few banks do a search for basic bank accounts. Natwest is one of them. I think LTSB do too (not sure about other banks).

Barclay's now open Cash Card Accounts in the Branch. There policy has just changed supposedly these last few days. They definitely can open the account in Branch just make sure you make them aware of it as some staff don't know yet!

The opening of the Cash Card Accounts in branch started last year, not a few days ago.

Does anyone know of a current account please?.

I was after a current account so i could buy stuff from online. Either this or does anyone know if Yorkshire bank will accept letters?.

I want to write to them about my bank account with them, and not sure if to email them, or send them a letter?. Thanks

Basic bank accounts are no just savings accounts. They are bank accounts, but without overdraft and chequebook.

There's no need to send them a letter. Just look on their website for banks accounts and what ID you need, or go to branch and have a chat with them.

I think your best bet Jen, is to try one of the other banks. Make sure they know of your speech problems.
