    Do you mean 11th Jan?

I'd give them a ring on 0845 766 0758 (i think thats the right number) and a quick search on saynoto0870.com gives a free number of 0800 282390 so try that first. They've probably missed you out somewhere cos it shouldn't take that long. (But i haven't applied lately so no experience)
  • No - 11th February. Thank you I will try that number is it 24 hr?

    moonflower,

The Barlcays basic account (Cash Card Account) can be opened in branch. Tell them to do this for you.

I went in to a branch with a friend to open an account this week, the staff were adamant that it had to be done at "head office" and not at the branch.

Mine was done the same way. I was given an application form to fill in, she photocopied my passport and then sent it off.

Strange. When I had that account, it was opened in branch.....

Looks like it depends on the branch.

Hope the account gets opened asap.
