Sounds like a great weekend, shopping, shoes and nice music :) The shoes sound amazing. Sounds like the new harp is a good move if it can help relieve some of those aches and pains.

Wordsmith I love shoes but am a bit of a handbag philistine too, I just don't get the appeal. I carry a lot of crap in my bag so the last thing I need is to be swapping between them all the time :rotfl:

I wore a pair of hot pink kitten heels to my brother's wedding years ago and my granny was still talking about them when she was in hospital for the last time :rotfl: so she would definitely have appreciated them. She had very refined tastes in most other areas but loved crazy shoes. I am thinking of her a lot as it is her birthday today, and last August bank holiday we had a lovely birthday party for two with tea, cupcakes and flowers. I'm so glad we did that.

Work is about to get manic, lots on this week ahead of a big meeting next week. But it is nicely summing up all of our hard work this year, and so I hope to be in a good position to talk to my boss about big things.

I'm still not sure how things lie, but I am 90% sure I want to commit to the house which means my income needs to stay up up up. Another house in my road has gone up for sale, a bit smaller but much more up to date inside, and the asking price is not great - I don't think I would get much more for mine, and this is nowhere near what I would need to make moving worthwhile.

Bahhh to being all grown up and having to make sensible decisions all the time. Thank goodness for ludicrous shoes :rotfl:

 Jaysus!!! But, OK, I can see why you would love them. They are indeed pretty (actually, that's not the term I first thought of ... but swear filters and all that ... let's just say, sit on a bar stool in front of your barman in those and away ya go!). They will look absolutely amazing on you, especially when you are playing the harp, and with your new dress you will feel a million dollars. Pics on the blog PLEASE.

Enjoy wearing them. It is just great your granny would have approved. How far can you walk in them? Go on, how far?

Ooh, and I've just realised, they will match your bra - the one you wear specially when you are going to the osteopath! Barmen of England ... be afraid!

  • Wordsmith I am in fits of giggles and my work friend has just asked me why :rotfl: what are you like!

I can't walk very far in them just yet as I only tried one on in the shop, and when I tried them at the harp they were too slippy as the soles are brand new and need scuffing a bit. A over T would have been guaranteed on the carpet but I did stand next to my dad who was amazed (at 6 feet tall he is used to looking a long way down!)

I will definitely put some pictures on the blog, great plan. I have some pictures from Sunday's wedding to add, and the bride and groom will send me some of theirs which is fab of them.

I reckon with a bit of practice I will be OK from car to restaurant to loo to car, but no more. The platform helps. Definitely no running for a bus, I would break limbs and then impale myself or others

    Hi LHG

I haven't been on the forums since end of last week and feeling a bit behind with all the threads and very tired and achey but decided to catch up with you first and so glad I did.

Love those shoes!! I don't wear heels very often but when I do they have to be HEELS and those really are eyecatchingly-fantastic!

    Love em!

Your posts have been so positive, that's including the tiredness, the chinese, the percy pigs etc because this is what happens to us all isn't it?

I am sitting here thinking about what my future is going to bring and realising that my ideas and my workload and decluttering (even after only a couple of days off) is getting rather behind and I was beginning to get a bit tetchy. Reading about your recent shenanigans has confirmed that we are all just human and have to just get on with it after we have ballsed it up a tad!

Looking forward to hearing all about the new harp adventures and will keep checking on your website/blog.

    Take care

    The shoes are fabulous!

  • Thanks :D

I am determined to make my updates a little more to the point so here goes!

Rang the bank to get my loan cleared off last night :j

I have another card balance to clear in the next month or so, and I can do this mostly with harp income. It is a constant juggling act and I will be pleased when this part of my life is done with.

Had some more teaching enquiries in this morning so looks like my name is getting around :rotfl: - this means I need to get some firm plans going as to how I can fit people in and when I can teach them.

I read a really good article about procrastinating yesterday and it has given me a little bit of a kick to get a bit more stuck into work :) I need to make a start on the big presentation for next week, but spent some time literally clearing the decks as my desk was a complete tip. My desk at home is now much more tidy and I have bought some nice cheerful stationery bits, brightly coloured, and it has made the world of difference. So I think I need a bit of a makeover for the work one too :D

Feels like my sense of control is coming back in other areas too, and normally this means my tolerance to mess goes out of the window :j

Counselling was good last night. We sat in a different building which they have been doing up, and it is beautiful - in fact the perfect little house in a perfect spot. I mentioned to her half-jokingly that if she needed a tenant she should bear me in mind :D How I feel about everything last year is certainly changing, but it is taking a long time for things to bubble to the surface in terms of my emotions etc. I am unable to share these with anyone else for all sorts of reasons, but that's what counselling is for.

The pooch issue is at the forefront of my mind, but realistically with all the house stuff I am planning, it's not the right time to get a new dog.

I have a rehearsal tonight with my singer and guitarist friends, and then tomorrow night I MUST get down to some serious practice on my solo stuff!
