morning all,
just popping on quickly to share this as it has left me lost for words.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-14184720
Food for thought - if my life now was part of my last three years on this earth, I would feel very sad indeed.
Feeling much brighter this morning after a good kip last night. A musical friend sent me a message about meeting up next week which cheered me up, and I had another decent practice session last night.
XF has paid his phone bill without me asking which is also a massive relief.
Had some more thoughts about plans etc yesterday during the fug so will keep thinking on. Souk you will be pleased to hear my plans involve maximum fun and fabulousness
and also some travelling which I never thought I would really be that up for.
LB - thanks for posting that, it brought a couple of little tears to my eyes!0 -
Omg !! just read that article....makes me feel so humble, and no matter what trials and tribulations I have been through at least I have still got my health.

Glad to hear your feeling a little more upbeat today, and that XF paid his bill without having to hassle him for the payment, all baby steps but will get you where you want to be, WHEN you want it to be.
hugs

evening,
just a quick one as I am shattered!! last night on the town was wonderful, the harpist was a singer/songwriter as well and played a great mix of covers and her own songs, on both guitar and harp. she was thrilled to have a total of 5 harpists there including herself
I met a lovely barman, had a real giggle together over one of his more bizarre customers
So today I am wiped out - got home at 2am and had to be up at 8am to get on the road to get home to meet my new pupil. She is lovely but going to be quite feisty I think, will be a challenge a few lessons in!!
Since I have come back from Italy I have been quite impressed with the social stuff going on - compared to others it is not exactly party hearty, but when I look where i was a year ago, I am very pleased.
Tomorrow my Australian harp friend may come over after all, it will be lovely to see her, but if she can't make it, I will enjoy a nice day to myself with my mum's dogs.
Other news - I finally got my iphone on Thursday. I have held off for ages but decided that was the day. All manner of trials and tribulations have ensued since, with various software versions not being new enough. Today therefore, I have bitten the bullet and finally bought a new laptop, this was long overdue. It is lovely, I feel very special and know I will be able to make good use of it. I have played with some of the musical bits already and am looking forward to recording some stuff on it :j My ex hubby has lent me some of his electrickery so I hope to do some experimenting tomorrow - if Aussie harp friend comes too she will be great for this!
Monday night I have my first rehearsal with the singer I met in the pub a few weeks ago - can't wait!
Much planning and plotting tomorrow I think.... I know I keep saying it but must get some stuff on paper
enjoy the rest of the weekend x0 -
You sound SO positive LHG, good work and party on lady XXX'The road to a friends house is never long'0

So...tell us about the barman0

morning all,
had one of the best weekends ever :j it was much needed after the crappy start to last week, i can tell you! Aussie friend came yesterday, she was a bit under the weather so we had a very lazy evening and I dropped her back at the station this morning ready for the next phase of her trip.
I had most of yesterday to just loaf about, did a bit of cleaning so feel a little less slovenly.
The dogs are great, the little one is enjoying lots of cuddles on laps and it was so funny this morning as he really did not want to get out of bed at 6am for his walk! :rotfl:
we went for a lovely lovely walk last night with Aussie friend, all through the farm next door and out into the woods where all the bats live. It was a gorgeous evening and the sun was all shimmery through the trees. Just what all of us needed. We came back, messed about on harps, had pudding and went to bed. perfect after a heavy night on Friday
barman - he was a lovely shy/quiet Kiwi guy with a really fab smile. we chatted as he was mixing a cocktail for Aussie friend who was just getting the start of a sore throat. the guy next to me at the bar was absolutely hammered and couldn't understand how he would leave his card downstairs but pay upstairs - he didn't get that someone would take the card upstairs for him :rotfl: and it was hilarious watching the barman try to explain it over and over again
So. the start of a new week. I am refreshed and ready to go
I have downloaded myfitnesspal thanks to LittleBoots and did quite well yesterday so will keep going with that - got about 10lbs to shift (seems to be the magic number lately!) and hopefully that will be gone for my non-anniversary so I can get in the pool and not feel embarrassed about wobbling :rotfl:
work will be hectic and then straight home to feed the pooches and get ready for singer arriving this evening. I have a lot to fit into my weeks if I want to do everything I love so am just going to have to get used to it  and look after myself properly to make sure I can manage.0 -
Sounds lovely! And here's to many more weekends like it :TSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
