Sorry to read you are feeling a bit "meh" - it is pants when things catch up with us like this, but you are right to let them happen, and there are certainly some bright bits in your post too, so grab hold of them and take them forward :)

Aw I hope you get over the 'mehs' soon - common after holidays and when you have come up with a big plan but can't get it fully in action yet.

Sounds like the music things are going well :D

Will check out the book, thanks :)

Well, I shouldn't read from the bottom up, and I shouldn't read too fast, as I thought redsquirrel's post said "I hope you get over the meths soon"!

You are right to just concentrate on getting better at the moment - the housework will get done in time, the emails will be answered in time, the plans will be made and carried out in time ... You have lots to be getting on with, and you will do it much better when you are completely rested and full of energy.

Dare I ask what happened about Mr P last weekend? It was last weekend, wasn't it?

Brilliant news about a new harp pupil. Is this the way you want to go, with more pupils? Did you get her by recommendation?

I can hear those bells ringing :), Ihave them too!
Great news on the new pupil :)
  • Ah, MrP - I had to read back as I couldn't remember if I had said about seeing him or not!

Well. The ticket materialised and he turned up. I confessed all to our mutual friend (who being a switched on lass had guessed anyway). She said he is notorious for getting dates muddled up and messing people about, doesn't mean anything by it but it !!!!es everyone off. So I feel a little more reassured by this, that it probably wasn't done in a nasty way, and that if he is that disorganised there is no future in it!

It was a crap day, we met up with some of his mates who I didn't know, which was fine, but didn't spend any time on our own. It was honking down with rain, so much so that the racing was called off in the end part way through the afternoon. I looked like a drowned rat all day. My friend's team was there so I disappeared off to sit with them in the dry for a bit - had nice tea to warm me up and a nice natter/mini flirt with one of his riders. He made my day by fetching me a lollipop - which gives an indication as to how !!!! the day was!! If all it takes to make you smile is a ChupaChup, and a mini one at that, and it's not even from the bloke you are meant to be there with, I am pretty sure that is not a sign of imminent lifelong romance! :rotfl:

Sadly mini flirt is pretty pointless - a lovely guy but very young and I think he has a girlfriend anyway. I have been there on the young front and while it would be huge amounts of fun in the short term, I don't think anything will come of it other than lots of smiles when I next see him. Which is nice enough :D

As posted on LB's diary earlier, while I was queuing for check in to go to Italy, there were several rather buff guys wearing Team GB Athletics kit. no one I recognised but didn't matter, I couldn't take my eyes off them - deary me!! It has been far too long and I have got to do something on the man front!!

New bike isn't far away and that should help things a bit, it will be an excuse to go for a spin to some bike shops etc and you never know who might be there.

I am feeling a lot brighter, I had about an hour's sleep earlier, and managed an hour's practice too. This was my first proper practice time since I got back, and I am glad I have done it. It went well and I have retained more than I thought in terms of actual playing! :D

Wordsmith I never posted re. your lodger/renting queries - I have though about a lodger before but would prefer not to, and while it would help in the short term, long term it is not really an option. I thought about renting as you say, but I am on a really good mortgage rate and have 6 months to complete on another house after mine completes. If there is a small gap I can move in with mum and dad as a very short term solution. I am pretty sure re. where I would like to live so at least that's something :D

I was really sorry to read of your nightmare with your house sale and all the dilemma that brings :( hope you can find a way through.

harp pupil wise, a wonderful lady who my teacher put me in touch with a couple of years ago has now stopped teaching, so she is passing people on to me. She is akin to a guardian angel really, a lot of good harp things have come from her and have led to other things along the way. She is also a friend of the lovely vicar and my counselling lady, so I feel very blessed to have the three of them on my side helping me stay in one piece! :) I am not sure how many more pupils I will be able to cope with before I run out of hours in a week..... this is quickly going to be a question I need to find an answer to, as I am rubbish at saying no to harp work.

I am off to get some more sleep - will work from home again tomorrow and should be back on form again on Thursday

If the mehhh ness continues I will need to think even harder about changes in the even shorter term. Hopefully I will bounce back with some good sleep though!

    Great update :)
Obviously I'm totally getting the man stuff. You put it a lot better that my feeling like a dog in heat comment though! :D
  • morning,

well, despite feeling totally wiped this morning and dragging myself out of bed at 8.15, I have surprised myself and got a few things done work-wise.

I struggled to sleep last night and am rather off my food - warning signs that spell bad things for me, so here's hoping things pick up very soon.

I am going to pop to the supermarket to get some filling in bits - I have done some shopping since I got back but seem to keep missing out the crucial bits I need to make a meal out of the other bits I have bought :rotfl: the perils of not going equipped with a meal plan and a list!

I am planning an early night tonight, no excuses at all. I will practice at 8, not 9, and will head off to bed after that.

I have a friend coming round tomorrow, nothing but trouble in that I wish there was more to it than just being friends, but it will be good to see him and he has promised me a big hug in exchange for chocolate hobnobs and some harp tunes. Sounds like a fair exchange to me! So I need to tidy up the bombsite a bit just for my own sanity!

Despite planning a quiet weekend to myself with mum's dogs, things are now looking full on. One of the girls I met in Italy is in London this week, staying with my harp buddy.

I am meeting them on Friday night for a curry and then going on to a bar where there is a harpist playing. I would describe her as an electric harpist but really the harp is electric, not her :rotfl: Then the other girl is coming to mine for the weekend, via new harp pupil's house and then collecting mum's dogs. She is very chilled out so hopefully popping out for dinner on Saturday and then heading to the beach on Sunday for breakfast and then taking the dogs for a walk should be enough for both of us.

I thought long and hard about whether to say no, but both of them are wonderful people who add hugely to my life in all sorts of ways, plus the girl we met in Italy lives in Australia so I am unlikely to have an opportunity to see her again for a while. And at least I should have Sunday night to myself ready for the onslaught of my first full working week in some time!

Off to do a mini shopping list and then get something down me for lunch. Nothing is appealing, not even cake

Oh poor you, you really do seem to be full of ups and downs this week. You ARE recognising the signs, though, so that is a good thing. Look after yourself and you will come through it in a positive way, of that I am sure x

Sorry to hear your not feeling too good, sometimes when you have been going full pelt at something, then the minute you stop everything just hits you at once.

But like hypno said your recognising the signs....and thats a start, cos at least you know when its happening and can alter things around to accomodate when your feeling a bit poo...

Great news on the harp pupil, definately sounds like you have guardian angels looking after you.

Have you decided on the new bike yet??
