well the wedding was great, bride was v late to the church due to a drama with the horses and carriages etc, but it was really nice to be able to do something for my friends and they were both really appreciative so I still have a nice warm glow
I was given a beautiful bouquet of flowers too - just gorgeous. I have had to give them away as I won't be able to enjoy them after Wednesday but my harp teacher is very grateful!
I didn't wear the intended frock in the end, although I should have done as the weather turned out to be absolutely tropical. It was a bit fiddly round the shoulders when I was playing (had a little dress rehearsal to check) so decided against it and went for something else that I always feel good in.
The reception was held on her parents' farm, miles from anywhere so it was very laid back as we could do as we pleased. Best of all, her dog came too
he is a border collie, working farm dog, and very loyal to her. Everytime she disappeared out of his sight he would wander off to find her.
It was a bloke fest but they were all fairly drunken and I wasn't. One of the other girls on the 'don't know anyone else' table was lovely and kept trying to fix me up but wasn't very subtle abuot it so I felt like a bit of a freak show in the end :rotfl: she and my friend agreed on someone who would be perfect, he was quite shy and they made it very obvious what they were doing and I could have died on the spot. Next thing I know, the other girl is hanging off him on the dance floor, then they have disappeared! So he isn't that shy after all  and she is married anyway :rotfl: but not happily!
After all that, I agreed with my friend that it was all a bit soon and the wrong environment for me and I would be best off with Ted the dog really
:rotfl:
I woke up very late yesterday with a long to do list for holiday etc. I did some shopping but am not that impressed with what I have bought so will take stuff back tomorrow. I have a work from home day tomorrow so can hopefully get everything done then, as I also had a music lesson and then out for a curry with mum and dad yesterday evening.
Off to teach harp pupil after work then home for a bit of domestic goddessness. Tomorrow evening is salsa/zumba and packing. I have everything sorted in my head for what to do/take for holiday, am making a list so should be good to go.
It will be a huge rush but I've never been on a holiday and not been in a rush so nothing new there! I can't wait though, am so ready for a break it's untrue.0 -
Oooh so close to Italy, how exciting

Sounds like you had a lovely day at your friends wedding.
Salsa and then Zumba and then the packing....where do you get all your energy from??
Counting down the days to Italy now for a well deserved break too

BF - I think hypno would agree on this one, but I am finding I have much more energy now that I am enjoying myself a bit more. Gives me more energy to spend enjoying myself which gives me more energy etc... a bit of a circular thing.
I am a big old extrovert and most definitely get my energy from being around others, rather than being on my own. Although I do need a healthy balance of that too

In case I don't get on again today (read "In case I forget"), I hope you have a wonderful and productive time in Italy."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
Hope you have a lovely time in Italy and come home relaxed!

coooo eee! :hello:
I have had an incredible time - so much to post about but I am still taking it all in and making sense of everything.
There was lots of time to think about everything, lots of fantastic people to spend time with, some wonderful music and some brilliant experiences. I really don't know where to start.
But most importantly, I have had a huge lightbulb moment and have had the unpleasant realisation that a lot of big things really have to change before I put myself into an early grave.
A lot of planning is going on inside my head and once I can get some stuff together on a bit of paper, I will go into some more details
A couple of small changes will be made in the short term so that I don't lose track of everything I have learnt.
In the mean time, I have to go back to work tomorrow and it is going to be a huge shock to the system! :eek:0 -
:wave:Welcome back glad to hear you have had a fantastic time and that you are feeling refreshed....:)
bit pants at having to go back to work tomorrow
..but at least its only 2 days back before the weekend....:j
