    OMG!!

Thats amazing news :j So happy for you, how exciting!!
  • thanks!

Wordsmith, there was definitely a spark there. He probably has a girlfriend but I will stay cool and see what happens. Not my normal type at all but look where that has got me :rotfl:

very cute in a scruffy musician way, and a really lovely funny engaging guy too.

am off to brownies in a bit and will pop on FB later, get them added and see what occurs.

had a good day of work, lots of frogs eaten so all good.

sad doggy-related news - I have got to the end of a loaf of bread and so have my first bread crust in the freezer with no dog to eat it. had a little wobble over that. I am not a crust fan so have always saved them for him when he comes, same with pizza crusts. I can save them for my mum's dogs but won't be the same. Poor old boy.
  • morning all,

just a quick one as something else happened yesterday by sheer fluke. I have been putting off my fringe trim for a little while. For some reason yesterday was the day so off I went, got to the hairdressers and the owner gave me a voucher for a free Zumba session next Tuesday night which one of her friends is running :T

I have wanted to try it for ages but haven't really done anything about it, and now I have a free go. There will be a few girls from the hairdressers going so I should have people to say hello to :) and if it's good, I will be able to go once a week :j

So I now seem to be out most of next week as well :j am going to have to crack into the overdraft which I had managed to reduce a little, but only to the tune of a tenner or so :) and this is worthwhile expenditure when I have lived pretty much like a social hermit for a while. Maybe I have just been a butterfly all along, just waiting to emerge from the chrysalis :D

I braved the Freedom Friday heels - blue/black 4 inch Carvelas which were a little too cheerful for the job I bought them for originally.

If one good thing came from the MrP saga, it is that it pushed me into wearing staggeringly vertiginous heels for when we first met up, which reminded me I can walk in them fine and I enjoy wearing them. Not all the time as my ankle can't take it too regularly, but am distinctly making more of an effort.

Heels are always good LHG! Don't let this Mr P thing knock you lovey. I have to say that a few years ago I was having a carp time with working loads and not socialising much and so when I met a guy I thought a bit too much about when I was next going to see him (not for anything other than the good bits mind) but thinking about it was taking up lots of my time. As soon as I started seeing friends more and doing stuff and basically, got a hobby I was much less bothered. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you're busy doing other stuff then you wont have time to think about it so much and in no time at all wont be bothered, honestly. Hope that makes sense and XXX

  • :)Omg !!

Can you feel your excitement from here...so sound so much more upbeat and positive with regards to the jamming session and the Wednesday nights open mic....even an invitation to join a band.....you go girl !!! :):)

Heels always make you feel more femine although feet might ache a bit after but boy are they so worth it.....:)

I believe that if you are meant to do something even if you think that you have mountains to climb, if it was meant to be then it will be....have you ever been thinking of something whilst listening to the radio and a song will come on and your singing away without really listening to the words...sometimes it appears that the songs are 'messages' which just kinda affirms that your heading in the right direction...:A

Not long until Italy, I am sure that in itself will open loads more opportunities for you. :)

Hope your having a good day so far.....BF

  • Souk it totally makes sense. I think it's the feeling an idiot that is hurting more than the actual rejection bit! :rotfl:

Life has been busy but in a drudgery kind of way, which of course means that the mind goes off on one of its own.

Hopefully now things are a bit more balanced and I can enjoy some proper fun stuff which will lift the spirits on a permanent basis and I can be one of those people who is always smiling so everyone wonders what they are up to :rotfl:

BF - thank you, lots of songs related to the journey have been on the radio recently - a Florence song just as I was going into the hairdressers in particular struck a chord (boom boom :rotfl:) as it has a significant harp bit in it.

So. I'm chilling out a bit, catching up with Corrie this morning while getting stuff ready for this afternoon's wedding. Their request list is great, less Glee/no Twilight this time :rotfl: and I have been working away the last couple of nights polishing bits up. It will add another 40mins or so to my current repertoire list, which all the time means I can bump off some of the filler-type stuff which is nice to listen to but a bit tedious to play :)

I have a list of baking stuff to buy for tomorrow morning, making ginger nuts for Father's Day and some cupcakes for my mum's belated birthday celebration :) She wants a camellia for the garden for her present but I have had to explain it will have to wait until I am back from Italy :( but she was fine with it, said she will be happy enough with cake :D I am definitely my mother's daughter there :rotfl:

    So. Reasons to be cheerful!

My band-related FB friend list has grown :j
I may be out tonight after I am back from the wedding :D
I am off to mum and dad's tomorrow for cake and doggy cuddles :)
Monday night is counselling lady :)
    Tuesday night is Zumba :j
Wednesday night is pub night
Thursday night is Brownies then cinema to see Bridesmaids with friend who gets married next Saturday :rotfl:
Friday night I am off to see a gig of the prospective band
Saturday is my lovely friend's wedding and hopefully single man fest
Sunday is A Day Of Rest - well should be but will need to get my !!!! into gear for Italy.

As hypno would say, life is good!

(apart from missing the large furry :( but I would feel less comfortable with being out so much if he was here so maybe he is looking out for me too)

    Hi Lionheartedgirl

    Sorry I've been AWOL :o

Wow sounds like you have a very busy week planned, just don't go wearing yourself out before you head off to Italy. Mmmm Italian men, dark hair and dark eyes :rotfl:

Hope you managed to get your baking done and got a doggy cuddle. I've just had a moggy cuddle and it was lovely, he keeps my lap really warm!

Take care and enjoy your busy week xxx
  • thanks! my 'one who got away' was Italian, it still hurts now so am not sure I could go there again! of course it's not fair to tar an entire nation with the same brush really :rotfl:

not much to report the last couple of days. Saturday's wedding was fine. I have finally decided I am not buying wine by the bottle for home any more, I feel rubbish as I always have too much and the last few bottles I've bought have been awful. This will save me a fortune. And I can still have gin of course :rotfl:

did some frog munching at work this morning, was very strict with myself but still managed to put it off another hour by faffing about :D

I've tidied my desk in the office and I feel much better as a result. I hate going away knowing I have left it in a mess, I find people dump things on my desk anyway when I am not there, so if it's messy, they are even more likely to do so.

I need to do the same at home as that is a proper dumping ground. I have a beautiful large glass desk with a big flower motif on it, but I can't see/enjoy ANY of it

I've decided on a couple of pictures to put up at work and at home, to remind me of my goals (more after I come back from Italy as they may change while I am away).

I'm off to zumba in a bit and am just mulling over the pub tomorrow night. I am wondering whether it's a little bit soon - was going to be really, really brave, but my new harp is having a little niggle so I need to see if I can fix it, otherwise I will be worrying about it and won't be able to enjoy myself properly. I know what needs to be done (I think) but it needs a special tool and I'm not sure if it's a generic one or if it's a specially-made-by-the-manufacture tool. I've emailed my teacher for some advice.

I'm doing some financial ponderings - big stuff to do with the house. Again I will update more when I am back from Italy.

Had a good counselling session last night, few tears because of things with the dog. But that was the intended outlet for it all, and it's nice to have been able to really talk about things properly.

That's about it for now :)
  • ooh and it's the Midsummer Solstice today. I've been really struggling to want to go to sleep lately as it's been so light!

cynics would say it's all downhill from here til the winter, but I am pretty chirpy about it :j

and also forgot to say, my sunflowers have sprouted woooo hooooo!
