  • I received a letter from my CC company yesterday. A couple of weeks ago I sent them a copy of the first template to reclaim PPI that you can download and fill in from this website. They cashed the £1 cheque but said that they could not give me a copy of the terms and conditions from when I first took out the CC. The letter was bog standard tbh and full of bully boy tactics designed to put me off. They said that they could, if they chose, give CC scoring agencies a copy of my payment history. I felt like replying welcoming to do such a thing as I have nothing to be ashamed of and, not only that, I see my payment history every other month when I purchase my credit file!

They also said that they could demand the balance in full whenever they like. I'm not going to be put off but, to be on the safeside, my number one priority is to clear the balance. It is, right now, £636.67. My goal is to clear the balance by October payday - seven and a bit weeks. I am going to post the contents of the letter on the PPI thread next week and post a reply just after September payday as, hopefully, the time they need to form an answer (judging from the first reply!) and post it to me should take me up to just before October payday. Method in the ole madness!

I have not drawn any money out of the bank or bought anything on my debit card since Monday afternoon.

I spent a few quid on Tuesday (£3.70)

I have spent nothing on Wednesday, Thursday and today. This means that I have had three NSD's and I have two more days to go until I set my new weekly goals.

However, my insurance have not yet reimbursed me and I have not received my expenses for two months. I am owed in total just under £300. This is money that I desperately need as my cat has taken a serious turn for the worse and I have no idea how I am going to pay for the parts of the bill that I have to. I do not know what the total is because this is his second night of critical care and I have no idea if he is going to survive. He has perked up a lot today and he isn't in any pain (I hope that he isn't anyway). I have about £200 until payday which is in a fortnight. I don't know what has made him so sick and neither do the vets.

I'm so tired. I'm so drained. This hurricaine that is meant to be hitting our shores is frightening. I hate windy weather and I don't have any money to pay for any house repairs should the worse happens and my roof falls off and the walls tumble down. I'm so fed up. Even the choccy and scented candles aren't helping to lift my mood.

Being vain, it could always be worse. I could always be like the !!!!!! self-obsessed twirps going in the Big Brother house.

  • I ended up with four NSD's so I have just about hit my target - yay! Need to do the same again next week.

My cat seems to be doing much better and should, touch wood, be home soon. He seems pain free and is very affectionate so, with any luck, he will make a full recovery. I cannot express how glad that I have pet insurance. I have a good chunk of the bill to pay but I'd rather pay a bit than the whole ruddy lot! Oh it has been an expensive month and there are two weeks left until payday!

  • The insurance company have sent me a cheque - woohooo!!!! I deposited it into my account after work and I cheekily asked if I could up my OD to cover the mega bill that I have to pay tomorrow. I told them the truth - that my vet will only deal directly with petplan and, because of that, I have to pay them a scary amount of money until my insurers send me a cheque to cover their share. They agreed - woohoo! The lady at the bank told me that it was cheaper to get a credit card as it is interest free for 50 odd days so I am getting one of those to keep somewhere safe should I end up with another mega vet bill. I hope to god that I don't.

I must admit that the thought of having all of this credit is not good for my mental well being. On one hand it is great to know that emergencies are covered until I have a healthy savings account but, on the other, it is too easy for me to go to the shops and blow the lot. I am just going to have to take each day as it comes and, as soon as the insurers reimburse me, lower my OD. I don't carry CC around with me so I don't need to worry about that.

I have an appointment at the bank on Friday so that we can discuss my accounts in more detail as there wasn't enough time tonight. I actually had to be let out as they had closed. My CC balance is moving over as I can have 0% for six months and we are looking at my bankloan to see if they can offer me a better deal. I hope so. Fingers crossed.

Oh yes, the CC is being hidden - out of sight, out of mind!

My appointment at the bank went really well. They have offered me a bank loan with a lower rate of interest than the one I already have. They rang head office and tried to lower the rate but HO said that the only way for them to be able to do that is if I log on to my internet banking and show that I have shown an interest in wanting a loan. This sounds utterly stupid and the woman at the bank said as much herself. Anyway, this is my homework for the weekend and I am going back on Monday to see if we can get the interest rate even lower. It's wierd because, the more you borrow the lower the interest rate. I told them that if I can get the rate lower, then I will borrow the amount and use the excess as a big payment towards it. I hope that makes sense. The thing is, it's my goal to pay the whole damn thing off as soon as.

Anyway, I have had three NSD this week which is bringing my total up to seven :)
