Sooner Royal Mail goes bust the better

Unsurprisingly, I don't have many friends. The nearest is 30 miles away. How can I ask them to make a 60 mile round trip to pick up something that is 1/2 mile down the road from my house?
As you weren't in when royal mail first attempted delivery it would stand to reason that you aren't housebound, so could you not collect the parcel yourself as it's only 1/2 mile from your house the next time you are out an about?
If you are indeed housebound could you not nicely ask one of your carers to collect parcel for you, especially as it contains your medication?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
OP,
Have you tried the phone numbers i posted for you on page 2? 08457001200, 0845927210. They were useful for me about 6 months ago when i called RM following selling something on ebay which turned up broken. Their initial response to my letter asking for the compensation for the item (only a few quid) as i had to refund buyer, and they erroneously sent me a reply porving it had been delivered, with those numbers on it. I called the first number and after a while of prodding options got through to a human and told them in no uncertain terms to get it sorted. It might be worth your while giving them a call incase they are ignoring your emails.
Just to say - I do not have a telephone, nor any access to one.0 -
What I said was don't (in the general case, not yours) go shooting your mouth off to the police about anything, because they will twist it to fit their case, and not their case to fit the facts..
Because no one cares about anything. And I've seen, personally, too many good people torn to pieces for either trying to stand up and make a difference, or to right a wrong that would not have been righted in any other way. (And no, I am not referring to anything 'illegal' or murderous or anything else nefarious - just good people trying to make a better society, that the very people they are trying to help tear apart because they're bored and have got nothing better to do with their time).
So - I either care for the people involved and report exactly what I saw (And it was a calm and collected recall and not "Shooting my mouth off") and get "torn to pieces" for doing the right thing, or.. I say nothing because the police will twist every word anyway or take editied highlights ???
I am sorry, but you really are sounding hypocritical.Unsurprisingly, I don't have many friends. The nearest is 30 miles away. How can I ask them to make a 60 mile round trip to pick up something that is 1/2 mile down the road from my house?
Personally, I have friends a lot further than that and would do my upmost to assist - as I am sure they would assist me if needed.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -

I could not answer the door because I was unable to get there in time. It's damn hard.

I did ring them, and he kaughed and me and refused to redeliver.Just to say - I do not have a telephone, nor any access to one.
Huh - I'm really confused now ?????“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -

I'm giving up on it. I can't explain it to you. Not what I mean anyways. I agree with most of what you said, so if you get the impression I don't it's my fault. I get that a lot, so heh, never mind.Personally, I have friends a lot further than that and would do my upmost to assist - as I am sure they would assist me if needed.
I don't have friends like that.0 -

Why? Do you think RM are cheaper than other companied now? They aren't you know. And they are putting up their prices.
RM ceased to be a decent company when the post office became franchises (or whatever they are). Like everything else that thatcher started, breaking it up to make it better made it infinitely worse. The only way to fix it now it to make it one again and take away the right for other postal companies to deliver mail and fix the prices so that RM are a non profit monopoly. The same goes for the trains and the buses and ...
Of course, it will never happen. Too many millionaires running too many private companies now. Thatcher should be jailed for what she did. Now that would be fair. Better yet, let the nation decide. Put her on trial before the nation.
Oh what a loony I am.
ok mr expert on royal mail, apologies i got it wrong, i admit i havent concentrated much on RM
i never said u were a loony,0 -
if you would rather complain about the Post Office (as opposed to calling the royal mail numbers I gave you above who would probably arrange the redelivery to your property) about the conduct of its employee at the sorting office their site says "Call us on 08457 22 33 44*. Lines are open from 8.15am - 6.00pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am - 2.00pm Saturday."
Hopefully contacting one of the two will get them moving to get your medication to you.
I dont know about your particular reasons for getting medication posted to you, but a lot of pharmacies now will collect from your doctors and deliver for free, My local lloyds pharmacy is fantastic, they bring me mine weekly, at the same time on the same day each week, and its totally free. Perhaps that might be a solution to this happening again? Presuming there is one locally to you and its sutiable for you.0 -
Sorry just caught up to see you dont have a telephone, as you have internet access you could consider using skype? You can make phonecalls to any phone number in the world through skype which is a program you run on your computer.0
