Tesco/Asda Pricechecker Thread - part 5

I don't really have a usual time but I won't be there tomorrow night because I shall be at church for the vigil of Easter. If vouchers come early enough, I might pop out tomorrow in the hope that it won't be too crowded. Will look out for a red rose (you promised!) and a EcclesCake with a baby. Don't know why it is so much fun to think I might bump into a Friend of Martin! I'll be buying even more dishwasher tablets and some rack of lamb.
It is exciting, isn't it?
Will a red Roses wrapper suffice?
I think as we're only in store for five or so minutes, there must be more than us 3. I'll still keep an eye out for a trolley containing tablets and lamb, though.
No idea what I'm buying yet - seriously stocked up on the usual suspects for anything up to six years (that particular one is teabags, the rate I drink tea)! Might try some unconfirmed stuff tomorrow as I think I'm using a £13 voucher rather than the usual £20.
On a side note for people looking for confirmed items, I've been buying the L'Oreal face tan stuff every day now for two weeks in a separate shop. It's £11.49 a bottle, voucher back for £10.98. I looked at the SEL in more detail today - the 'offer' at Tesco runs to 9th May! I'm going to end up with 32 bottles of the stuff if ASDA keeps up their offer too...10 Ways to Spend All Your Student Loan In A Week0 -

AngelsMadv wrote: »Good evening all,
I suppose I'm just looking for clarification but I had a strange one this evening. Whilst doing my dtd shops I noticed an end of Finish that was marked at £3.05 for the 800ml rinse aid - clearly a mistake but there was loads there. I took 1 in with my main shopping to check.
Right enough it came back at £5.99. :j
I went back after packing all my dtd stuff in the car and bought the shelf. £100 worth. I went to customer services and she called the manager. The manager was adamant that I was getting only the difference back, not double the difference. I phoned customer services who told me it's at the managers discretion.
I phoned them again and a different person said the same thing. I walked out with the lot and receipt and photo of the price on the shelf with the product in an effort to sort this out.
Is dtd at the store manager's discretion? Do I just send the standard e-mail to the ceo? All help is really appreciated. I'm normally king of the arguers - this is the first dtd one I've lost.:mad::mad:
I've done some major DTD shopping in my time, but never bought a shelf :rotfl: I don't think it is at the digression of the store but I think they could pull you up on the bulk buying policy. Although the fact theysold you them in the first place must put you on better ground. Good Luck.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
i am off to bed. this is getting ratty and i for one cant be bothered to listen/read it. goodnight folks, hope tomorrow we can all be friends and enjoy this DTD.life is like a loo roll. the nearer the end you get, the faster it goes.0

I missed you by about an hour. Thanks for the offer of picking some up for me -- I'm happy to risk it. I'm planning to have some for Sunday evening but if necessary will take some out of the freezer.
Didn't realise you already had some! I'm thinking I'll be in about 11.30am tomorrow as I need to catch the Post Office before it shuts for two days.10 Ways to Spend All Your Student Loan In A Week0 -
preciousillusions wrote: »Question for those savvy on buying the rack of lamb: How do you figure out how much DTD you will be getting back on a rack going by the weight/price on the shelf? As obviously weights with differ from the one on the spreadsheet. Is the DTD always £2 higher than the price paid?
Am extremely impressed by the various answers to this, all of which demonstrate a huge amount of mathematical skill!
I confess that I can only hold in my head that a £8 rack of lamb will get me roughly £10 DTD and I am happy with that. I usually find that the packs are either about £8 or about £6 -- never quite sure what the £6 ones return, but I just do a guesstimate -- probably about £7.50?0 -

They may invoke the clause whereby each store has a bulk buying policy( my stores is 6 per person0 and thereby only give you DTD on 6 of them.
They can't accuse you of breaching a bulk buying policy as a member of public would not normally be aware of this policy and Tesco breached the policy in the first place by selling them to you. I would stick by my guns and put your complaint in writing.

and after they have entered their receipts and found out that on an "average" shop, T is indeed cheaper than A, this will be reinforced even more...
I think the only reason Mr T's looks cheaper at certain times is because they suck you into the multideals. Just buy one item and I reckon Asda would be cheaper on most things. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Stop lecturing people and participate positively to this forum or pee off I say. All your posts are like berbastrike. You two really get on my tits
I think most people would agree that we are all bending the rules but in my opinion everyone should be doing so with a little discretion and not running around with an iPad and a videocamera to record the experience
You need to go to the forum "moaning for moanings sakes". Can you please post about DTD items and experiences.
I am sorry but you irritate me
lol like im going to do what you say.. a mere pixel...
if i irritate you ,TOUGH..
if people want to attack other people then il reply thanks..
if you think im an easy target because i appear to be in a minority on things then your sadly mistaken.. if you learn to read the full thread instead of another selective reader trying to jump on the bandwagon you will see i will say my piece regardless..
so thanks for your concern and bringing the matter back up but if i really bother you add me to the ignore list..0
