left alone as in not having to keep proving how unfit for work iam ive done 2 medicals 7 pathway to work programs and at the end being told no they cant find a job to fit around my illness and letters from many dr.

As you are in the work related group I assume it is anticipated that at some point you will be able to work. Quite right to keep tabs on your situation.

You could of course stop claiming any benefits and then you won't have to attend medicals etc. However if you still want the financial support then you will have to provide the information and proof of continuing illness required.

Having to attend a medical once or twice a year can't be as onerous as getting up at 6am and going to work for most of the day can it? However it is your choice.

    Thats what I thought.....

Compare that to 36-40 hours working & 10 hours commuting every week.

That has already been answered. A lot. If you are still unclear or unsure I suggest you put in a claim and see what happens.

It was you that took the thread "off topic" with your "I just want to be left alone" comments. Which is clearly not true as you want the state in your life (to pay your income!).

So just to be clear, you meant my latter : "I want the governments intervention in regards to the money, but not the intervention with regards to the proving I am ill".

Well I cant help you on that, I am sure others will though as there are lots of people on the forum.

All I will say is that I am glad that the government put people through medicals and "pathways to work" when they claim they can't possibly work. The more the better IMO.

If you can't work and are genuine, you will pass each one so there is no problem is there?

Sorry to sound rude but have you read about all the people that atos say are fit for work then go on to appeal and win. all this is very stressfull

Being a member of this forum, its hard not to.

But why are you bringing other people into this? You passed your last medical in Dec2010, what has changed?

You are not one of those that failed and got it on appeal.

You are bringing other peoples experiences into the thread that is not relavant.

Its a bit like me saying "Your condition is X, I know people with X who work full time and bungee jump on weekend".

Not helpfull and I won't be thanked for it, so why have you brought other peoples experiences into it?

    Hi Dave,
I have to agree with you that there are some really wierd people on this site. This part of the forum is more like a benefit bashing one. People will pick up on the slightest thing you say, turn it round and try to make themselves look clever at the expense of the poster.

Never mind (and I'll guarantee, I'll get slated for helping you!)
Have you had a look at these links?

    http://www.hlp.entitledto.co.uk/viewhelp.aspx?sid=13&helpfile=MeetsConditionsForIS

    http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/index/life/benefits/help_for_people_on_a_low_income_-_income_support.htm#who_can_get_income_support

    http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/BenefitsTaxCreditsAndOtherSupport/On_a_low_income/DG_10018708

I hope these help you out.

As for ESA, I fully understand why you feel like you do. Under IB, you could get away for years without anybody bothering you once you had passed the assessment.

Then they say, that is wrong, people should be reviewed more often.

So they go to the opposite end of the spectrum and think you should be re-assessed sometimes every 3 months!
When will common sense prevail and take the mid point view?

So perhaps you will fail the next one as well. I bet that is really what is bothering you.
