Im going to show him the washing machine magic buttons later today. He does iron.
DD off school this morning due to a wasp sting. Have appplied lavender oil,ice and before that vinegar. Pain killers given and anti histamine. Poor kid .
Room last night, nothing on the floor, all on the bed!. How she got in the bed I dont know. Spent ten mins clearing her bed whilst she was asleep.
The five min trick Ill try that one. I used to count to three if they were being naughty. It did work.

DD finally brought down the mouldy bowls that her and a friend had fruit and yoghurt in last Thursday despite me asking several times. What prompted her? - evidence of mice in the kitchen:eek:

my DD is 10 and I still do the "3 strikes" thing, especially in public ie she really doesn't like shopping with me unless its for her, so if we do have to go together I do the chore shopping first, then we look for her things. If she starts whinging for any reason during the chore shop, I give her 2 warnings to stop or we go straight home. And I do if she continues, so she gets nothing (she didn't even get her crisps for the kitchen cupboard last time because she kept whinging). She's catching on, but it takes time ;).

I was messy and still am messy.

I don't however get the food and other stuff going mouldy bit and never did. (I know lots of neat people who do.) That's where I would draw the line.

It has made my relationships with men so much easier, whether they are housemates or lovers, so I am really glad my Mum didn't change me. Men like my Dad, who can't pick up after themselves but don't like a mess either, wouldn't be able to live with me, but that's fine. The feeling is mutual.

When it gets too much, I will sort it out.

I think a room should be a haven where you are allowed to be you - but agree with the no food and obviously a functioning bin emptied regularly.

Again had to clear daughters bed. Eight dolls all resting in her bed, lol. Room not too bad. Iv just been watching the American series on horders. I love watching others mess makes any untidy heap in mine look like a showhouse.
It takes an age to clean mine now the animals are all moulting. Five balls of fur. Still love them though.
Once that sun comes out all the dust shows. Winter is great for hiding cobwebs, lol. Oh well I can not moan about the kids if I dont get things spick and span. Cellar is my next job. Tons of junk down there.

OK, didn't read every word, but scanning this discussion there does not seem to be much mention of pocket money.

Would it not be possible to link the two?
