Morrisons Cafe...unruly kids and shopping trolleys!

You get a lot of decent people too in my local Morrisons. They arent all the "worst quality of customer" (as you put it) by any stretch of the imagination. Having said that I do my main weekly shop at Sainsburys these days because of the Nectar points but like to pop in Morrisons and/or Tesco for certain things.
I see plenty of badly behaved children and chavvy parents in Sainsburys and Tesco too.
They're not all the worst quality of customer, alot of perfectly decent customers shop there (i do myself on occasion). However you do tend to get alot more rude and unpleasant customers in Morrisons than you do in any other supermarket. On the cafe front I do actually think Morrisons has the best supermarket cafe. The breakfasts can be very good, its just a shame about my fellow diners. Last time I was in there the person in front of me was trying to haggle the price of his jacket potato down from £1.99 as he didn't want the salad garnish

Today in Morrisons we were waiting in the queue at the till and a couple of kids pushed our trolley out the way to get to the sweet shelves. They were at least 6 or 7-years old, and completely ignorant of the fact that we were waiting there. I've also had my car kicked by a little kid on the street before as I drove past, (I must add I wasn't putting the kid in any immediate danger). The reason he did this wasn't clear, but he had right face on. It's as if kids are getting ruder these days.
I agree with this, but also because of the parents are just as rude. I always say 'blame the parent'.
My kids are brought up to be polite to others, and I remember once when my daughter was about 4 or 5 years old I had to stand and wait for her as she insisted on opening a door for some people, several ADULTS walked past and no one said thank you to her, except the last person...a 8(ish) yr old boy! Thank you to everyone!

Kids will be kids im sure when you people were younger you were just the same, i dont think i know any child who behaves everytime they are out.
I can assure you I wouldn't have dared behave like that when I was a child. Parents' tolerance of the behaviour explains why so many children behave like this. There will be reasons why some children behave like this, however they're in the minority.
Why expect people to be accepting of your child's problems whilst similarly criticising old people's lack of mobility?0 -

I dont expect people to be accepting of my sons problem but i do not expect people to moan about my son either, he has a disability that effects his behaviour and people seem to think it is ok to moan about my child and judge me as a parent without even knowing whats wrong, as i said would you moan if his disabilty was physical?
I am not criticising the lack of old peoples mobility at all, i was just using them as an example. Yes it annoys me when im struggling around Tesco/Asda with a crying/screaming child trying to hurry so i can leave the store before some narrow minded person feels the need to comment or judge me - but i wouldnt dare moan about them or judge them, i just get on with it. Ive had some horrible comments from people before and have had people loudly moan about my son but if i dared do that to an old person i'd get shot!Challenges 2012 -GOLD - HolidaySILVER - IphoneBRONZE - Cash£2012 in 2012 - £0/£20120 -

This thread is about children who misbehave and parents that don't seem to act on this - it has NOT been directed at children with learning difficulties - a couple of posts have referred to learning difficulties BUT replies have again been broadly supportive of the fact that this is a different matter so please don't take it personally.
Now this statement of 'kids will be kids' DOES get my goat . Why? This tends to be used by parents lacking control who just sort of shake their shoulders and proclaim... 'well, he is only little' etc - that is no excuse for anyone allowing their children to negatively impact on the lives of others who are just trying to mind their own business in a public place.lalaland11 wrote: »Kids will be kids im sure when you people were younger you were just the same, i dont think i know any child who behaves everytime they are out.
I can assure you that I wasn't allowed to be unruly in public when I was young - it's about parents setting boundaries and (gawd forbid) a good example.lalaland11 wrote: »Arrogant people annoy me as do old people who walk very slowly
Nice that you expect kindness and understanding of your own child's difficulties but you are fully prepared to moan about the elderly... lovely.:hello:0 -
At the risk of annoying the Muffia... I don't know why people think the supermarket is a great day out for their children. Sure, I understand if it's just you so you have to take the kids with you, but I see entire families in there! Why can't one of the adults stay at home, or take the kids to the park or something? No. Seemingly not; they drag the poor bored sods round the shops instead."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

As I have said I was not moaning about old people, I used old people who walk slow as an example as they can not help walking slowly just as my son can not help his behaviour.
The part I wrote about ADHD was aimed at the poster who said a child having ADHD is not their problem so why should they be disturbed by it.
Kids will be kids ...... My son is being brought up well and is a polite loving child BUT he is a kid and he will scream and cry and will not always be an angel. I guess I am just one of the people who does not have a perfect child.Challenges 2012 -GOLD - HolidaySILVER - IphoneBRONZE - Cash£2012 in 2012 - £0/£20120 -

Nice one  So it's ok to moan about the elderly walking slowly because they are crippled with arthritus or something?
Rude.
No one has said a bad thing about children with learning disabilities, and you SHOULDN'T stay inside like a hermit because a child has a learning disability.
But this thread is about parents who are not controlling their children. the ones who are lacking control, the ones who don't care what their child is doing as long as it isn't annoying them.
I would be ashamed of my child doing this in public and I would decide to promptly leave in respect to the other members of public.
I AM NOT saying that you should leave because of your son, as his case is different.
I also hate it when people are quick to say 'my child has ADHD'....'oh has he, when did the doctor tell you this'...'Oh they didn't, the doctors say he's fine, but it's so obvious, look at him running around'......
I'm not saying anyone here with a child with ADHD is lying by the way!! Just thought I'd point that out
People who cannot control their children need to have a lesson in disapline and parenting. If they can't control them in public, I'd hate to know what they're like at home.
My kids play up more at home than in public. Thank you to everyone!

Oops - you're previous post need to be changed then, because it sounds like you're pointing out what you hate, and then suggesting that perhaps we ban them - obviously the 'banned' bit was a joke, but it does seem you were pointing out what you hate.....making sense?
I'm not having a go by the way!
I was busy writing my post as you were writing yours...... Thank you to everyone!
