No one has said a bad thing about children with learning disabilities, and you SHOULDN'T stay inside like a hermit because a child has a learning disability.
This was to the poster who said its not their problem if a child has ADHD and that they should not have to be disturbed by it - ADHD is classed as a disabilty.
But this thread is about parents who are not controlling their children. the ones who are lacking control, the ones who don't care what their child is doing as long as it isn't annoying them.
This is what it started about yes but there have been some post that have been aimed at all children, i agree if the kid is running riot and the parents say nothing then it is different but some posters have aimed it at all children/parents.
I would be ashamed of my child doing this in public and I would decide to promptly leave in respect to the other members of public.
I AM NOT saying that you should leave because of your son, as his case is different.
When my child is like this in public it is embarrasing but not because of my child as he can not help it but becasue of the way other members of public look down on me and feel the need to comment - reminds me off the one day in Tesco some women threatened to slap my son around the face, I pointed out he had a disability and that he can not help his behaviour and that if she dare lay a finger on my son she would be getting one straight back.... i then had someone telling me i should not speak to people like that, this really got to me as i cant see how they can justify her threatening to slap a 3 year old boy but not for me to stand up for him.
I also hate it when people are quick to say 'my child has ADHD'....'oh has he, when did the doctor tell you this'...'Oh they didn't, the doctors say he's fine, but it's so obvious, look at him running around'......
I'm not saying anyone here with a child with ADHD is lying by the way!! Just thought I'd point that out
People who cannot control their children need to have a lesson in disapline and parenting. If they can't control them in public, I'd hate to know what they're like at home.
My kids play up more at home than in public.
I think all children are different and none are always good no matter what their parents wish to think, sometimes the parents are to blame other times not.Challenges 2012 -GOLD - HolidaySILVER - IphoneBRONZE - Cash£2012 in 2012 - £0/£20120 -

They bother me too. I just shove them out the way, like skittles."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
OMG Lalaland! SHE THREATENED TO HIT YOUR CHILD! I too would have threatened to smack her back if she carried out her threat!
No matter what, I would never hit someones child! How rude! And how rude that someone then told YOU off for what you said!
That is utterly terrible! Thank you to everyone!

Sure, I understand if it's just you so you have to take the kids with you, but I see entire families in there! Why can't one of the adults stay at home, or take the kids to the park or something? No. Seemingly not; they drag the poor bored sods round the shops instead.
Some people are glutens for punishment.
I know it nice to have your OH with while you shopping but if your big shop you know what your getting anyway.0 -

I would 99% of the time the parents are to blame. I would'nt get away the kind of behaviour that others have moaned about and neither will my kids.0 -

Lalaland you intimated in your post about your child screaming and running around. Its not the screaming that worries me. Its the running around in a place where hot drinks are served. Its bloody dangerous. Im sure waitresses arent paid danger money (most of them are on low or minimum wage) so why should they or other customers risk third degree burns. And can you honestly say hand on heart that you wouldnt be blaming the waitress or the customer that he runs into if the worst happens.
It seems a lot of parents are happy to pocket the Child Benefit and the tax credits etc but i bet they wouldnt be willing to use this money to compensate a scalded waitress or customer.0 -
I know there has been lots of threads about this kind of thing but just needed to vent...
I took my aunt to Morrisons yesterday. She wanted to go in the cafe which was very busy. I could have done without it but she doesnt get out much so in we went.
It was mayhem! There were lots of mums with children in there. Some of the children were well behaved but some were not. They were running about, screaming and getting in the way of people with trays of food and hot drinks. I cant abide children screaming, it drives me mad. I dont include babies in this, they cant help it. Two of the mothers had toddlers in high chairs with buggies alongside. Fair enough... I accept that they cant leave the buggies unattended but did they really need shopping trolleys full of groceries in there as well. No one could get past the tables they were sitting at.
I just cant understand how some mothers can sit there chatting on mobiles and to each other whilst their children are running around making a real nuisance of themselves. Not to mention that they are at risk of being scalded if they knock a tray over.
Why cant they be more attentive to their children and teach them some manners!
Rant over.... thanks for reading.:)
Of all the selfish uncaring about anything at all people in the world, mothers invariably come top. Had you pointed out to them what they were doing you would have been in the wrong. If you'd done what anyone in any sensible society would be allowed to do, and shouted at the brats yourself, you'd have been arrested. Simplest way is to avoid anywhere containing mothers or children at all times. They are invariably bas^$&ds to a tee.0 -

Just the tiniest bit OTT?Had you pointed out to them what they were doing you would have been in the wrong.
Not really.
Of course, someone might have told you you were wrong but that's not the same thing. If you'd done what anyone in any sensible society would be allowed to do, and shouted at the brats yourself, you'd have been arrested.
Oh do get a grip!
Of course you wouldn't.Simplest way is to avoid anywhere containing mothers or children at all times. They are invariably bas^$&ds to a tee.
You really do like to make unwarranted generalisations, don't you?
(Now someone tell me the post was a parody.
