Oh, forgot to say, when you join Avon you can take the Avon book with you when you go to mum and toddler groups etc. Once everyone knows you are taking it seriously and 'always selling' you will pick up extra orders. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you - good luck.
Thats a great idea, I will join! Thank you so much for your help.:j DMP started on 1st Oct 11 - 6 yrs 0 mths till DFD :jMay 2018 Debt free date - Mission to clear before!Depression is a challenge, Debt is a challenge and I have been given these challenges to be a stronger person. I just wanted to say keep your chin up, it WILL get better. You have made the first, toughest step which is wanting to do something about it.
I moved back to my home town 3 years ago and hate it, just like you everyone knows everyone elses business and twitters about it behind your back.
My true lightbulb moment was when I walked out of a 9 year relationship that had got so bad I left him with everything (long story). Anyway, the only thing I had to show was £18k of debt, most of which was spent doing HIS house up. You live and learn!
You CAN change things.
Avon sounds great for you, Ebay (as your daughter grows out of clothes and toys have a go at selling them to pay for new) and or car boot sales. Try Oline surveys such as One Poll, the pennies all add up.
I am so sorry to hear about your debt but well done, thats inspiring to know that yes something can be done when you want to. It is awful isnt it, I am shocked to read how many people are subject to these terrible busy bodies. I cant understand why people are like it. I know I keep saying so. Its so lovely to know that there are others who feel the same as me.
Thats a great idea, I have ebayed a couple of bits but mostly been giving them away or keeping them. I have read about the survey sites, will go and have a look. Thank you, I hope so too. I want to make a difference and find myself again.
Has this site helped you?
Helped beyond words. I can't imagine a MSE free life :rotfl:Sounds a bit sad but I have so many 'friends' on here. I lurked for a long time and my debt at worst (2007) was about £33k. Today it is just below £3k... Almost there
As for folk who talk about me / gossip about others: they have sad and empty lives, I really can't think of an other reason. Lets face it if I'm the best they can find to talk about they must be really bored!
Read my signature; it took me 37 years to realise it but in January this year the penny dropped. Accept your flaws. Get over not being perfect. No-one else is...
And always have the courage to be yourself but remember, you are unique.
I hope the Avon thing does well for you, I use their stuff alot and it's really popular so fingers crossed for you. Aria's Tail is right: it WILL get better

Thank you Diz and I do not think its sad, I think its wonderful that you have found friends on here and that MSE has transformed your life. You have done so so so well to pay off that amount of debt. It really has bought a tear to my eye, my debt is no where near as bad but it shows that if you put your mind to it you can work towards paying it all off. You have done so well. How have you done it?
Thats a great way of looking at it, that they are bored and do have sad empty lives. I have got to the stage where I try avoiding people are all costs.
I love the saying, its very true. People want to be perfect but it would be a boring world if everyone was perfect. People just need to be accepting. I am going to write that down and keep that close when I a having a down day.
Thats good to know, I will give it a go, will just need to keep at it.

I want to start this thread off thanking you all for being so kind to me, I managed to feel a little more motivated over the weekend and even enjoyed some sunshine in the garden, something which I have not done for a long time. My daughter benefited from it and my partner relaxed too.
I listed 19 items on ebay, cleared out my makeup bag of lots of NEW products which I have not used so I have listed as many as I could on ebay. I have also cleared out lots of baby clothes which I will start ebaying today. I have cleared out one of my drawers, and got a few items out of there. This hasnt even made a dent in the house of potential ebaying items.
I have also made some leaflets for the beauty side of things, I have done them cheaply but they look ok. Its a start. I need to get out and put my qualifications to use and also make some extra money. Just need to decide where I am going to put them now.
I feel a positive start has been made, I am still worrying I am still scared but I am making a start. a start is a good place. This is how you have all made such wonderful progress.:j DMP started on 1st Oct 11 - 6 yrs 0 mths till DFD :jMay 2018 Debt free date - Mission to clear before!Depression is a challenge, Debt is a challenge and I have been given these challenges to be a stronger person. Sheer determination and going without a lot over the last few years. I do get fed up with it at times and hate saying 'no' to socail events etc with friends but it had to be done.
I'm lucky in that my work provides me with a tied house at very cheap rent so I have chucked every spare penny at clearing the debt. It has been hard and it has been painful but I'm getting there. It also made a huge difference that once I had repaired my credit rating enough I was able to get a credit card with a 0% balance transfer offer, the balance came down much quicker then.
Ebay also helped - the amount of 'stuff' I have is still amazing. The house would have burst by now if I hadn't Ebayed a load! Still more to do though
I'm glad my little saying made sense to you. Try not to avoid people though, you are who you are and remain proud of that, always.
Hope the Ebay listings are doing well and that today is a good day for you

Hi there, I probably wasnt clear about it, We have split the bills in half meaning he has half the bills and I have the other half. Theis is my half. Food shopping I dont always pay for now but we are averaging £200 or more a month on shopping. Hope that makes sense:j DMP started on 1st Oct 11 - 6 yrs 0 mths till DFD :jMay 2018 Debt free date - Mission to clear before!Depression is a challenge, Debt is a challenge and I have been given these challenges to be a stronger person.
