  • They are certainly still charging excessive amounts now. Just got a charge of £38 yet again when I logged on to internet banking.

Royal Bank of Scotland also charges a referral charge does anyone know if this is included in the reclaimable charges? It is used when your outgoings are more than your incomings over a period of a month.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
The referral charge goes through when the bank has chosen to pay something - DD, cheque, POS etc even though you are overdrawn, or by paying it you will go overdrawn.
I have reclaimed these charges alongside the usual charges, and I think that many others have too - see the RBS thread (sorry would have added a link but am new to this thing - just do a search on this forum).
    Anyway hope that helps.

Handed letter into bank on Monday - can't wait for the 14 day deadline.

    It's only a game

    Hi

I have successfully claimed against NatWest.

You can claim back all the charges you have mentioned. You can also claim the unauthourised overdraft fee that NatWest charge which is simply shown as: 'CHARGES/DATE/ACCOUNT NO.' on your statement, the current rate is £28. Be aware though that if you have an Advantage Gold account they add the AdGold fee to the unauth o/d fee, so you MUST subtract the AdGold fee as this can't be claimed.

If you would like any more help with NatWest, just let me know.

    Regards

    Hi

Please click the following link to the help thread and look at post 4.

If something on your statement is not described simply (i.e. returned direct debit) and you don't understand what it is you should phone the bank and ask them.

    Regards

  • Underground - Sorry to sound thick but, what do you mean when you say following link? Where is the link?

I remember seeing a list of how the charges are described and what we can claim back but, i cant find them anywhere.

    Thanks a lot
