Thanks that what I thought. I can claim any unpaid S/O or direct debit charges too can't I?0

Yes you can.:: BCSC #71 but now discharged! ::0

Yorkshire bank paid a direct debit for me and my acc went £3.97 overdraw ,got stumped for £25, they won't repay that back because they say the DD was paid on good faith , if the DD was returned thenn they would have charged me more -£35.00
Are they right , can I claim the £25.00 back?0 -
I would imagine you are entitled to claim it back b/c the actual cost to the bank would not have been anywhere near £25. Which is what the whole thing about claiming for charges is about - charge vs. actual cost.
Personally, I'd claim for that.:: BCSC #71 but now discharged! ::0 -
Thanks Bakeybadoo
I've written a letter as I had no joy with the customer advisor over phone.0 -
I'm just in the process of making the first step in claiming back unfair bank charges. In the standard template i downloaded, the opening paragraph says "I am writing to request a fully comprehensive list of all the default charges for direct debit, unauthorised overdrafts and standing orders I have paid over the last six years"
Can i reclaim late payment fees on my credit card as these were £25 a pop???
cheers0 -

I currently work in the financial services industry ( not in banking ) and in my role invariable have to arrange for TT (telegraphic transfer ) payments to be made ( these are payments which are made same day to immediately clear in a recipients account) I have on my own back account arranged for two such payments to be made for which i have been charged £20 for each one. I understand that this , like other charges, is much higher than the true cost to administer, can these be claimed back as well?
PS thanks NIckmack for the previous reply - havent quite go used to posting replies etc but Im sure I'll improve!0 -
Does anyone know whether I claim back interest charged while overdrawn for the past six years?0
