Didn't anybody notice that their restaurants don't have air vents on the roof? You need that if you're actually cooking the food or the entire place would be full of smoke. They microwave everything.
This thread just gets more and more far fetched by the day:rotfl:. Joanne , the statement you have just made is totally ridiculous!
To join a site at 5.30am simply to make a post such as this ^^ though kinda explains it.....
Do you actually work in BK? Know someone who does? No?
Trust me , my Daughter DOES and thats how I can say for sure that they cook their burgers onsite!
Infact...shes working this evening....would you like a picture of the air vents or the burgers cooking? :rotfl:The loopy one has gone :j0 -

Most burgers taste like crap anyway. Eat some healthy real food!
Oh please, I get so tired of people piping up to make snide little comments about 'unhealthy' food.
Amazingly it is possible to eat burgers and stuff, and yet still find room in your diet for more conventionally healthy edibles! I know! incredible eh? Who knew it was possible to eat burgers in moderation along with other stuff and not turn into a massive fatty, trapped in their house on a channel 5 documentary.
Seriously, these high horses you people seem to love riding are on fairly shakey legs.0 -

How is that 'fresh'? It's defrosted. You point out that the meat cannot be transported around the country unless it's frozen. Then Subway shouldn't have "eat fresh" as their slogan.
Similar with Burger King, they tell you nothing about microwaving the burgers. The adverts all show the burgers being roasted on a flame, with the next scene being the meal being served to the customer. This gives the impression that flame-grilling is the final process the burger goes through before being served to you - not that it then endures being chucked into a microwave by some spotty idiot. That's deceptive, IMO.
The meat may be frozen but nothing else is.
Bread dough comes in 3 times a week, is stored in a chiller. Gets baked in store.
Salad comes in fresh, chilled 3 times a week as does tomatoes, sweetcorn, etc.
Not really sure how much more fresh you want it. Its impractical to transport meat across the country without freezing it. Personally I'd take subway any day over any other high street chain. The less said about the golden arches and the king the better...0 -
As someone who used to work in Maccy D's in my teens, I can confirm the onion bit.
When I used to get there in the morning (we started with myself and 1 manager every saturday morning from 7:00AM till about 9:00AM when everyone else started) I had to prep the kitchen for the breakfast shift, then get stuff ready for lunch.
The onions come in paper sealed bags as tiny little flakes (about the size of a pea but flat). Then I had to check a few packets in a big food bucket (these are specific for food as they are sterilised in a big machine out back first) and fill it with spring water. Half an hour later the water is gone and you have the onions or the day. They then go into the walk-in chiller (which smells like a chocolate factory when you walk in there for some reason)
